Thank you, Father Gregory, for recounting that feeling of being empty and beat up. I get anxious when I have those feelings, but you have encouraged me to avoid anxiety and seek the Lord.

I liked this episode. Very real. Again, tackling the tough stuff. Thank you! Truly. I wish we had more access to this level of faith answers where REAL transformation occurs. And thank you to those who asked the hard hitting questions. So many people are hurting, and they aren’t sure where to turn. This felt like real application of the Faith to our daily lives. This is the work the Church should be doing more of and everywhere! So good. 🙏

Haha! Father Jacob, so it is in your genes! I am from outside the US, let me put it that way, and I learned about this podcast thru Ascension Presents one or two weeks ago. I've been going through some vids in your podcast and...at some point, I said to myself "That Father Jacob, he's been givin a lot of grumpy vibes" 😂 I felt guilty for taking note of that and it is just liberating to hear you say it about yourself 😂 Okay so now I can move on and just take that as part of your "charm". I pray for your fidelity to Him, til the end! 🙏

Isn't rehashing our own sins a distrust of God's mercy? And prideful as we are thinking our sins are worse than He can handle??

Like alot of things, it depends on the reason and the circumstance. If you murdered, it would be rather unfitting to say a few Hail Marys or a few Rosaries and go about your life. To an extent this kind of thing after a degree of severity of sin is unavoidable because sin twists the soul. Sorrow can be a way to reshape broken senses of wrongness and lead to growth in virtue. Of course, if you are just despairing and acting like you were never forgiven, that may be as you said. A good solution is to confess this and just be honest with Gof about your struggle and ask Him to increase your virtues of faith and hope and thank Him for any goods He has achieved in you out of that spiritual deadness. Or, embrace the desert and find where Christ is there with you and ask Him to restore the wasteland of your soul into a garden once more. It can be a slow process, but the fruit of such a struggle is intimate trust in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and God`s Divine Mercy. Because, you are walking with God even in the desert and throwing the worst of your life at Him. You see truly where you die, He brings life and absolutely exceeds you in all ways. That is to say you wrestle with God, and He wins for you, over you. You get a glimpse through the cracks of the tomb of the Divinity of the Living God, and you see that He is Who He says He is. You meet the embrace ultimately of your Heavenly Father and know He truly loves you with a Divine Love.

Confession is very helpful with sins against chastity. And it's probably not just the embarrassment factor lol. My next mission: bad temper and cussing. Hard to be patient with myself when I realize what a freakazoid I can be. I want to slap myself. Maybe I'll wash my mouth with soap.
