I watched this concert back in April. Avi's music is like good medicine for my soul. My husband died from cancer 10 days before this concert. I will never forget how at peace I felt after this concert. Somehow, Avi's music helped me move through my grief to a place of healing. I still listen to his music on Spotify every night. I am forever grateful for Avi Kaplan and his way of expressing himself through music and words. Some day I will see him in concert in person. That will be a good day.

Isn't it life changing when music cuts right in & interrupts our sadness or ennui with its calming effect? We all (hopefully) have a musician or band or orchestra that can rescue us from our darkest days & cleanse our souls with the mere sound of their gifted voice. I, too, have found music brings calm & hope when I need it, it's like the way a Bible brings it to religious people, but for me it's 🎶 music instead. I'm glad you found Avi's music to comfort you... it's why the first thing I do upon awakening every morning is to put my favorite music on, it starts my day off with a reassurance to myself that the mood of the day ahead 😌 is up to me. & it steers me away from the darkness & back to the light ✨✨ ....

@@susancooper3111 Avi has literally saved me from the depths of depression and wanting to commit suicide with his song Quarter Past 4. All his words and music make me stronger. He is an amazing artist. Recently I came across these words in a Coldplay song (Let Somebody Go) “You could turn my sorrow into song.” I instantly thought of Avi. Coldplay is another talented group. Also doing as much as they can to help the human race. We are so lucky to have artists like these and others to bring us peace and soothe our souls. Song/Music can be very healing.

@catzkeet48602 жыл бұрын
Hell he’s one of the best male voices, period. With his huge range it’s not really appropriate to just lock him into “bass”, but not only does he have a very wide range he also has great tone and resonance in all parts of that range. A lot of guys who are bass singers, can venture up into tenor…..very few of them have a tone and timbre there’s that’s as rich and full as their bass, but Avi is full and strong in all parts of his range and, just as important, his voice has colour, timbre and shading, whatever he’s singing.

Elody, among all of the talk about the rightness of this video being published I wanted to give you a remark about why it is so important to me. I was diagnosed with Fibro about 19 years ago. Later Sjogrens...then two other autoimmune diseases, one of which was MS> Four years ago I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and my being plumetted into into a very sick dark place. At almost 5'6" tall I got down to 80 lbs and was not sure I was going to live. I found some excellent dr's who lead me on the path of natural healing and am so much better now. Yesterday, for the first time in a long time, I thought I might like to begin to put a mile or two in on our Slim Cycle. I put the concert on my computer and rode for just over 5 miles! I did the same thing tonight putting in just over 6 miles and doing some workouts with my arms I did all of this while listening to and watching the Mandolin Livestream concert you posted above. I will be 66 the end of this month and am well on my way to recovery and the video has given me hope and encouraged me to get my life back. Thank You for your decision to post this. It has been a great blessing for me!

THE FIRST PLACE I GO really touches me. It may be about a toxic relationship, idk, but to me it perfectly fits how I feel when I start sliding down the depression path. I start to sabotage my health and I just don’t care. But at the same time I try to fight it. “Leave me be, I’m too tired to fight”. “ close your mouth, dont speak those lines” ( the negative thoughts come barging in). Avi has a fantastic gift to put feelings into song and relates to so many people. I’m thankful that the Good LORD put his lovely music where I would discover it. ❤️
