The implication being government wants to do anything other than enrich themselves via taxation and insider trading. I’d rather give money directly vs watering it down via bureaucracy.

Thank you for doing this important work to help heal our planet. I live in Portland Maine. I've gone 42 times out to remove plastics from the Back Cove near where I live. There's always plastics to be found when I go out there, needles too. I find those almost every time I've gone out to pick up plastics. I've only removed about half a dumpster's worth so far. It's just me with a bucket and a picker-upper though. I figure "some is better than none is".

All of you have done a fantastic job, from the great pacific garbage patch, to the interceptors in the rivers and the other booms that are preventing plastic from reaching the ocean. Yes, I've seen some of those videos too!!! Catch it before it gets to the ocean - excellent. Gonna take a worldwide effort to STOP this & also clean it up. Important to know where it goes afterward . . . assurance that it won't end up back in the ocean again...

I would suggest that all nations that have a coastline on the ocean should contribute a modest % of their GDP to a fund yearly that will support this endeavour and other initiatives to save and protect the ocean eco system world wide.

I think it would be really good to have a video on costs. What does it cost to put one of those systems out into the ocean for a mission? How many extractions does one mission include? And ultimately, what is the cost per kilo of extracted material?

It costs millions, and they all deserve the huge salaries they get, especially the CEO. They bring awareness and attention to this huge problem. The rest of us can only volunteer to make a small difference but it all adds up.

All countrys who have rivers that end in a sea have to use first the great Interceptor units to stop the plastic before it goes into the sea.

They should also consider a small vessel at the apex of the net system that can incinerate the plastic at sea. No time wasted hauling it in and sorting it. They could run 24/7/365 by refueling at sea with minimal personnel. And no back breaking labor.
