My wife loved the first sketch we’re everything goes wrong the moment he leaves. So true, everything runs fine when I’m home, I’m barely out the door and the washing machine dies. My wife called the repairman who said it’s not worth fixing, she went out and already priced three replacement units, checked them out and made the decision on the one she wanted. While on a layover, she let me know about it and I agreed on the expenditure. The new washer was delivered the next day, hooked up and tested. By the time I was back from my pairing, everything was running smoothly once more. Pilots’ wives are a special breed and that’s why we love them.

I'm a pilot's daughter and when people would ask me as a kid where my dad is I would be like, "I don't know. He told me his schedule, but I forgot." My favorite one was when the school nurse once asked me what his work phone number is and I said. "He does not have one. He's an airline pilot." I think some people expected me to be more torn up about my dad being gone on trips than I actually was. For me, it was just my dad's job, and I knew he would come back.

Husband: (On the phone) "Having best BBQ in LA" , "...best burger in NY...", "...best crab in MD!" Wife: "I heard there's a great new Japanese restaurant in town." Husband: (Now home) "I'm pretty beat. Can we stay in? What's for dinner?" Husband: "Man, my hotel view sucks on this overnight. I'm so bummed!" Wife: [Hasn't seen a "view" since honeymoon] Wife: "I'm about to lose it between keeping up with the house, appointments, and raising this little one. I wish I could just have an hour to myself!" Husband: "This ready reserve is killing me! I'm so bored!"

I am a pilot, this is exactly what my wife experiencing when I am gone work. You guys are awesome! Appreciate everything you’ve done!!

LOL how about when you get a call in the middle of a gathering and have to leave cuz hubby is coming home early, or if your husband does not fly for the majors and they ask you what airline, and you say a regional and they have no idea; or when hubby does not make it back when you expected he would because he misses his flight home; or when you are dying to go out and hubby comes home and all he wants to do is stay in!!

This is great! I've heard so much about the challenges of the pilot lifestyle from pilots, but very little from the people they love/who love them. Thanks for making and sharing this hilarious video!

"Why are you still working?" So true! I thank God my wife has a great job with real health benefits! Little do her coworkers believe she is really supporting the whole family! And the requests for free trips!!! LOL! Obvoiusly they've never been stranded half way to a destination!

You should add when you have the family all loaded up in the car headed to meet another couple and their kids for dinner on a Friday night and scheduling calls for a green slip (extra pay) trip and your husband jerks the car into reverse so fast and heads off to the airport leaving you and the kids to go meet the other couple alone. True story :)

Yes! I have gone through many tornadoes, children getting stitches within an hour after dad leaving, in the past two years emergency health/surgery without him, cars only break down when he's gone, and the list goes on and on! I'm an FA, and people ask my mom where I am all of the time. They look at her like she's nuts when she says she doesn't know... y'all got it worse though with people saying awful things like that to you! They were some terrible friends! I was cussing out the screen when they were talking.

Whaaa Whaaa Whaaa, whiney! my brother's a pilot and altho' some of this is likely true .... the 2-3 weeks off back to back (about 2-3 months a year! AND that's NOT VACATION TIME!), the great pay that puts you in kinda a "rich" category ;) and yes, the amazing travels (with & w/o their children) and discounts galore! and my brother would NEVER say some of those things to his wife, and helped her around the house when he was home, and they could afford the wonderful opportunity of her being a stay at home mom (which, yes, she relished for the most part!). I suppose they have to put up w/ some insensitive comments over the years, but they know they've got an awesome thing going w/ being a commercial pilot, and they're truly grateful for it all (altho' they do like to whine too on occasion LOL!!! it's mostly in gest :) And after the days away, when he returned it was like they were on a honeymoon again! C'mon pilot-wives FOCUS ON THE INCREDIBLE POSITIVES HERE!!!!! :)
