I traveled alone through Spain when I was about 18 back in the 80s, so I can relate to a lot of what you are doing. I wanted to let you know that they sell by the Kilo there. One Kilo is equivalent to about 2 pounds. So if you are comparing prices to the US always think you are getting about twice as much as you would in the US. That helped us realize that food was actually a lot cheaper than we thought. So 20 EU for 1 kilo of salmon would be about $10-$12 a pound and or course, you probably would not need to eat a whole pound of salmon. In Spain, they have stores they call the "Chinese" bazaar which is kind of like the dollar stores here. I know you value your privacy, but I would love to know your name. My name is Kim Laffont. Wow, I never thought of shower shoes.

Spain may have to import salmon, and that would make it more expensive. You need a local friend to take you to the market, and introduce you to the fish sellers. I’m going to do that when I go to Portugal for a long visit. I just bought legit shower shoes for my trip. I’ve tried flip flops, but they stayed too wet. I just made sure I was the 1st one to use the shower, after it had been cleaned. But, this trip, I’m staying at 3-4 hostels. So, time for shower shoes.
