This album didn't sell well because the title "Stain" was combated by the singer of the band named The Stain (lead singer's namesake, i think) and the album was discontinued for a time after it's release, but it is seriously one of the greatest albums of the era. This song, Ignorance is Bliss and Wall are fucking amazing, straight bangers. If the legal issues didn't happen, these guys would be one of the biggest bands from the 80s. They are AMAZING.

race was a huge factor as well. throw in talk about Male bisexuality and it's as you'd expect. but yeah, they'd blow most bands out of the water. incredible talent

Yes, they got kicked out of the mainstream after that song. The bad news is they made 3 more albums after Stain. The good news is that they are still playing together.

I would argue the "market segment" was misguided and are the one's missing out. Much like all the other bands that seemingly can't get the respect they deserve, like King's X for example. The talent in this band is simply overwhelming.

ballsy move but definitely cost them. coming in black and celebrating bisexuality is going to be a hard sell in 90s hard rock
