Take it or leave it , I lived in in tents when I started , todays construction and mining camps are much more livable these days a lot like motel style living

Karl C the idea is to make it as comfortable as possible as you are sacrificing a lot of time away from your family. There’s a reason they don’t stay in tents anymore mate

Even in the Navy once you complete recruit training, you don't get told when to go to bed or dictated what to do by some poxy security guard - what an effing joke. Then again, some of these specific camps could have had issues with alcohol, drug users etc as this type of work attracts some rough head bogans who don't always exactly have good personal self-discipline skills etc.

Do they have doctors or dentists in this villas?
@mattd5256
@mattd5256 6 жыл бұрын
I have never worked at any mine that had a doctor on site, let alone a dentist haha. Most sites just have a medic (quite often they are either ex-army or have worked as a paramedic before) and some pretty basic medical supplies. Where I work at the moment is 500kms from the nearest town and we don't even have antivenin for a snakebite. Anything serious happens - you are 100% relying of the RFDS to save you, if they don't have a plane free then you're pretty much out of luck

Yes it is Very Strange, Very Strange Indeed how there are No Such Camps in Mackay, Yeppoon, Sarina, Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Airlie Beach, The Sunshine Coast, The Gold Coast. Very Strange I Wonder Why Not?. I Wonder What is Going On?. If Only We Knew What is Going On?. I must Write to PM Morrison and Premier Palaszczuk and Ask them What is Going on with All these Camps?.

@@jmx318 it is that. I am in day ten of quarantine in Perth and fly to Karratha on Thursday. Looking forward to it. New project with FMG and working with men and women I know and like from many projects past. That is a by-product of our chosen life: mateship and collegiality. Our life does separate us from the rest and to be successful I reckon you need to be resourceful, resilient and self-reliant. It's a bold life, hard, gutsy, nation building and worthwhile. You know you're alive.
