The passing of a GSD is a devastating one. They are absolutely incredible dogs and so intelligent. I used to feel like she was reading my mind. Do consider the Blue Cross Animal Charity for free of charge bereavement counselling on an 0800 free number as well. They helped massively recently after our LAB Cross passed of Cancer. It was just amazing to have my grief validated. Other folk who don't have a dog don't really get it and also the loss of a GSD is I believe - can be - an even bigger hit and only GSD/BM owners will get this. I stress though that we are blessed with all dog breeds and are privileged to know them. Finally, one phrase that helped was - - Don't cry for the loss but smile for the memories Xx

Thanks for a lovely genuine video. Your BM is beautiful. Bereavement of a dog/GSD etc needs more talking about as it is utterly devastating but people who don't have this experience or no dog experience can be perplexed. I lost my GSD (Female) in 1999 and was not prepared for the grief punch. All dogs are amazing but for me a BM/GSD breed just sees into you and reads you like no other breed. Ferociously loyal and a best friend. I am not too shy to say I went for bereavement counselling and it helped massively. These days the Blue Cross Animal Charity do an amazing free bereavement counselling which I used again after losing a female Labrador - another beautiful breed as they all are. Keep well Dotty. We lost our jack Russell two years ago, very suddenly, and very quickly it was awful, I grieved terrible,it took me a long time to get over his passing, I never thought it would be so hard, I still miss him terrible 😢 xxxxx
