In January I lived in this micro apartment (maybe it was never supposed to be an "apartment"). It was both fun and at times tough, but there's no limit to how much you can adapt to any environment if you want it.

You could maximize the space by getting a bunk bed and putting the desk underneath. That way you could set up a mini kitchen area where the desk currently is.

That's a great idea!

Not to be negative, because it can work for some people, but bunk beds are a great choice, unless you have injuries or conditions in the knees, foot, or joints, or have a fear of heights, or go to the bathroom a lot during the night! It's also dangerous to climb down steps while you're only partially awake! 🤨

@@Mallayah004 I grew up with bunk beds starting at age 7. Being the oldest, I always had top bunk. It is actually very hard to hurt yourself on one, even when you are half asleep, unless you jump down from the top.
@wolfboi35193 жыл бұрын
@@Mallayah004 I had a bunk bed when I was 6, and the only time I’ve fallen off the top is when I decided to jump from it. I was a kid okay? Anyways even then the only injury I got was a stubbed toe. I also have a periodic sickness each year which gives me constipation, so I had to use the restroom a lot. It’s fine. And if I can handle it as a kid, then I think he can handle it. Also from what I can tell he’s not injured.

If the price iwas right and the apt well situated, I could live in this and make it quite comfortbale. I would however have made more of a make-shift kitchen for myslef somehow with a small microwave, hot plate for fly and boiling, a small crock pot, fridge. It looks very clean. Honestly, the fact that you have your own bathroom is just fantsatic. Many tiny places like this in NYC are not half as nice as this place, and, you have to frequently share a common hallway bathroom with other residents. The big window is great and that view you have is just wonderful really. You really lucked out! Not bad at all, you scored!!!!
@Auntyalias20143 жыл бұрын
For that price it's a great space. Like the other people who commented... if you can't build OUT - you build UP. A bunkbed with space for a desk underneath. Shelves over and around the mini fridge to hold a microwave and food storage. A plastic bin in the shower can double as a place to wash dishes away from the toilet. I'd even add a plastic chair in the shower so one could sit and wash one's feet comfortably.

The window and private bathroom saved this space, never would have imagined it had a bathroom I would feel a bit claustrophobic though and I find it difficult to not have a kitchen since I prefer cooking my own meals, a tiny stove with a tiny oven would be a must lol. I am very impressed with this apartment. Like I would willingly CHOOSE to live there. Especially with it's own lavatory/shower accommodations. I would opt for a raised/lofted bed though. And one of those open backed cube organizer things tall enough to be a night stand for the bed yet it wouldn't block the natural light and serve as more storage. And I would more than likely make the under bed area, if tall enough that I would just have to bend over, a "kitchen" area. But food at home is a priority to me as opposed to spending money eating out, so that is just me. Again, i LOVE this apartment!

If I was the designer, I would do this : make the toilet and shower cubicles either side of window, each with a little window so the moisture can evaporate out. In between under the window keep a mini kitchenette for cooking so smells can blow out Built in cupboard with sliding doors where the current shower is, bed up against the cupboard. Keep a wall mounted collapsable table where the desk currently is, storage shelves underneath, plus extra storage under the bed.

That’s the same as where I lived as a student m except with shared bathroom which was hell. From experience I would recommend shelving that goes over the desk so you can make use of height for storage and organisation. And as others have recommended, you can get raised beds of various types to assist also if you have the budget. If you can manage a few pictures and plants it makes any space feel more home like and your choice m rather than just what will fit in each corner. On cooking, I had a little‘George foreman’s’ grill, other brands exist, which greatly increased my cooking options without taking up much space.

I just viewed a New York micro apartment for $800 a month no bathroom (had to share with others on that floor) no kitchen, no closet, two windows, with one you were not allowed to open for some reason and a useless fireplace feature (so most definitely use to be part of a larger space). You having a bathroom of any sort makes you one lucky guy.

I love it except for the windowless bath and toilet. If I were the designer, I'd try to find a way to get that light from the gorgeous window (that view makes this room) into the WC. Maybe a loft bed is the way, without compromising that huge view from the window somehow.

You can get rid off the bed and sleep on a japanese futon, during day time roll it up and than you have much more room. It is a super plus for this tiny appartment to have the bathroom seperated from the other room. Ok: 1.how much does it cost? 2. In my country this would be too small for a dog to keep in. Legally. No offense. But really true. So: good for the landlord he CAN rent this to humans. 3. You have a WC and a shower of your own. Good! 4. Put the cables BEHIND the desk. Not only does it look better. It's no more tripping hazard. 5. Has been mentioned before: bunk bed, desk under it! More space. 6: rice cooker? If you like rice?! How about a microwave atop the fridge. Or a mini stove? 7. Shelves, shelves, shelves.... So: If you find everything beautiful: good for you. You must be a very happy person. 🌺🌺🌺 And: make use of the balcony. Clean it! Put some flowers and a chair. Beautiful view. Probably to be able to live in London there have to be some sacrifices.
