This reminds me so much of my time abroad. I studied in Spain as an undergrad student, then went back again for a year to work on my master's. Both times were the happiest I'd ever been in life and I cannot wait to relocate permanently in a few years. I plan on going back again this summer for the first time in five years. Only a few more years of sacrifice while working and saving on a teacher salary left. This summer is going to be such a treat! Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration!

I understand that this video is made for Americans, but as someone from Central-Europe it is interesting to see that this apartment is viewed as being "cheap". :D Sadly, a 680$ apartment is only affordable for high-earning (high-middle income) citizens if they wish to live alone without sharing the place.

@@ricardopalma3714 I know and it's shocking. The USA for me seems one of the best countries to live in if you are rich, and one of the worsts (among first world countries) to live if you are poor. As a physician I would likely have a higher quality of life and a much higher salary for sure in the USA, still I can not speak against my own country (Hungary). I came from a low income family, still I had the chance to study with full governmental scholarship in the best medical school of the country. So I basically got my degree at no extra costs. Beside that they provided me a student shared college dorm room for around 35$/month (no extra cost) that had a gym and free wifi. So I can not complain. Still I don't know which one is the better system. Maybe a perfect system does not exist.
@tvs9978

@@davidm7201 the better system would be countries like Canada, Denmark etc. You certainly make a lot of money in the US but life stressors would also be high. Canada has the best of both systems.

@@tvs9978 depends where you are in Canada. I'm in Toronto and I WISH there was an apartment like this for even $1500. Vancouver would be the same.

@@TwiinStar1224 These prices are hard to compare. Here we have a starting salary of 1200$/month after taxes as a junior medical doctor. So if you take this into consideration, even 680$ is still a high price to pay for only housing.

Plus, I would say this is the price for the appartment big enough for a family with a kid. A couple or a single person could definitely use something smaller and cheaper, with all the amenities and at great location. And, have in mind, this is the centre itself, he is 100m away from the government. So there are also so many cheaper options just a bit further away.

Questions: where do you dry up your clothes? $75 a month for gas seems pricey for two burners and a 700 sq ft place. Why didn’t you choose Kiev instead? How hard is it to get the nomad visa? How much for a bigger place like 1000 sq ft? What is your monthly expenses in Croatia vs New Jersey?? Good video!
