New subscriber. Wow, this was a great video for me. I am not full time, but take extended trips in my vehicles. I have a no build that I have used in three different vehicles. Everyone always asks why I didn't get a roof top storage box, but to me being an older verticality challenged woman, it just doesn't make sense. I am still paring down and streamlining my rig but next winter I feel, I will have my extended 2+ month setup dialed in. I will watch travel content as well as just a day in your life as well. Thank you for taking us along on your journey. Safe travels.

I live in a two-door Bronco and truly believe that with the except of a blanket ,tent, and pillow, anything that won't fit inside of a hiker's backpack is not worth having. I strongly encourage people to practice being a minimalist and learn how to live out of a hiker's backpack.

One thing he didn't mention about the Jackery vs the Battery, you can only use the battery directly with 12v products. If you want to convert that 100AH/12v battery to 110 AC, you need an inverter. The jackery comes with the inverter. And the size of the inverter you have depends on what items you can plug into it and run. Do not plug your 1500 watt hair dryer into a 240w Jackery or inverter. If you are just using it to charge up your phone, your computer tablet, those are low wattage and low voltage items and that works ok. If you are going to use the big battery to power big appliances (110v / 15 amp), you need to be sure you have a properly built system with fuses and safeguards to keep you from being electrocuted and fire hazards.

SO THATS WHEN YOU NEED A JUPITER INVERTER FROM 12 VOLT TO 110 ? IS THAT RIGHT ? THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING INVERTERS. IM LEARNING.
@USMC6976
@USMC6976 Ай бұрын
@@user-sz9ik3tv5d Yes, if what you mean by a "jupiter inverter" is this: Jupiter Power Inverter 2000w (4000w Peak) converts vehicle 12v DC to House 120v power 3-120v AC outlets 1-2.1AMP USB plus protection from hi/lo voltage, high currents, high temp & short circuit. Just be careful how you wire it to the car battery. However, I would be more likely not to connect it to the car battery for power. I would prefer a standalone battery for that. It would suck big time to find out you ran your car battery out of power and was stranded in the boonies. There are a lot of low wattage inverters that are cheap, they will not power your hair dryer or skillet. This channel has a lot of information, Will is very good at explaining this. www.youtube.com/@WillProwse

With many years of experience packing for a family for road trips that included camping, trying various setups (tent trailers, cargo boxes, etc), we would always go back to the simplest. Now a solo traveler, I still prefer taking as little as possible, but enough to be comfortable and have what I need for my interests. At campgrounds, I've met people who were traveling cross-country by bicycle or on foot doing the Pacific Crest Trail, carrying on their backs or bicycles everything they needed. A car is luxurious in comparison. I've seen a lot of videos of people showing their rigs, often mentioning that they had too much stuff and never used a lot of it.

When you started this video talking about stealth but showing a vehicle with tailgate and roof storage, I had my doubts. I'm glad you understand that isn't stealth and did something about it. There are so many people making "stealth" videos on KZfaq these days, and they are anything but. It's good to see someone setting that straight. Not only that, but you decided to make stealth your priority. This is getting more and more important as time goes by. More and more cities and states are creating legislation regarding sleeping in vehicles, confusing the houseless with the homeless (not that they don't deserve a place to sleep as well). I looked at your channel and I subscribed; I hope you do continue to post regularly, as you said you will. We need more intelligent content! Thank you for the video!

So i plug the cord that came with the battery and goes into a wall into my car while i drive. Since it's just a standard wall plug. If your car doesn't have a port for that they sell cheap 12v to 110v adapters too. That charges the battery. Makes it really simple to where i dont need a battery maintainer or inverter

@@RavRovingI bought an inverter for my Prius but this seems better I'm not understanding, you say you plug the cord that came with the battery into the wall of your car? Whats in the wall that you plug it into. Forgive my naivety. Did you make a plugin from something that's wired to your cars battery or engine and you plug the additional battery into that. You should make a video about how you plug in the battery in detail, like How you have a 110 plug in your car and how to plug the fridge computer etc… thanks for sharing 😊

"Paint It Black"!!! Lol That's how stealth I am. The whole inside of my minivan when the sliding door opens is Black! You can't see anything!!! It's like a dark hole!!! But I think with the Jackery, you can plug-in a few things it looks like with your battery. You can only plug-in once at a time is that correct?

Interesting idea about the batteries. I'm curious as to how long your battery will last... Do you know how many complete charges it's rated for?
@RavRoving
@RavRoving Ай бұрын
The one i have is rated for 10,000 cycles. It has never died on me, and could realistically power everything for a couple days straight

@@RavRovinghow long do you have to drive to charge up the battery? I have the same frig with a 2000 watt solar battery, it goes about 5 or 6 days before I need to charge it but I need to be stopped somewhere to put out solar panel. I haven’t driven around with it plugged into the car to see how much charge it gets.

Oh Boy, you went through a lot of trial and error. Coming from a backpacking background, I can see that a SUV almost gives you too much space so you end up taking things you typically have in a home. I get the same confusion when I go carcamping too. I do like the luxury of having a big fridge. Since you didn't seem to have solar panels, you must have to drive often to keep your battery charged up.
