Thanks Yvonne & Mike ☺ Jessie is truly a gem! 🔷😍 I always enjoy the walk along Avenida do Mar 😎 Any chance of featuring more native folk as we don't see enough of them in vlogs? It tends to be us "foreigners" on show for the most part! Have a wonderful week my friends 🤗

@@LivingWalks I'm seriously considering a trip back to the Pearl during the latter half of September so we'll have to sync our watches for it! It's about a week & a half since my return to reality so I'm having fun editing, more so with my new PC which has an i9 processor, so I'm now able to comfortably edit & render my videos saving so much time compared to before! Thanks for pinning my post, I'm always flattered by such attention you lavish on me! 😉 😁

Thank you very much for the informative video interview. My wife and I have already moved to Madeira from southern Cal and are thinking of buying our own apartment preferably new so we are very much interested in the real estate market and its future prospects. Please provide more content?

Hello there @mentezari, what a pleasure to receive your message. How lovely for you that you've moved to the island, I'm sure you must be very happy. We'll be back ourselves in the next few days, so look out for us, a tall slow walking chap and a little blonde sidekick!! Perhaps we'll get to meet someday.

I’m from Madeira, I agree with pretty much everything she said except two things, we generally eat normal food, rice, canned tuna, normal food from the supermarket I personally don’t eat madeira typical food every week nor every month. The other thing is even if I’m proudly from Madeira, and I love it here, I probably would answer that I feel more Portuguese than Madeiran. Portugal is my nation and gives me a bigger sense of identity, and ofc Portugal, Portuguese being my language and the Portuguese culture and music also shaped Madeira. So being Madeiran is being a privileged Portuguese, those things such as Portuguese music, food, history and legacy are our identity and we also have simultaneously our own Madeira identity. That’s why I feel more Portuguese than Madeiran.

How very nice to hear from someone from from Madeira, interesting to hear that you agree with most things Jessie said except for your thoughts about food and that you yourself feel more Portuguese than Madeiran. We've been very much wanting to give Madeiran's a voice on the channel for a long time. I hope we can meet up with more along the way and hear more from a Madeiran's perspective. Thanks for dropping by.

Have you done any walks / tours of the Azores islands? Would be interested to hear/ find out how they differ to Madeira. I should imagine a lot less touristy and off the beaten path.

With all due respect, the food in old town Funchal and surroundings is quite awful and expensive. I'd say say away from that area and explore other areas. Although I must say I found three that are inexpensive and decent food: on Rua Joao Tavira N.14 there is this place called BETWEEN that has healthy food; also in Europa Shopping center there is a place called "O Mundo dos Doces" although it refers to sweets, they actually have great food and best soups. I'd also strongly suggest going to Canico to eat "espetada" on the place next to the church downtown Canico. Hope these suggestions are loved by all of you. In regard to Madeirense people, I'd suggest you stay away from the women, especially those that haven't travelled and are more open to other cultures. This culture is truly very gossipy and overall very negative in their thinking. Just saying...

Hi there Mary, thanks for your feedback. Appreciate the tip re' the inexpensive and good food on Rua Joao Tavira, we'll have to check out BETWEEN and the "O Mundo dos Doces" soup. Are you from the island? All the best to you.
