Plan on opening my Roofing Company. More than likely going to have to be Billings first (rent for a year) I grew up in Rapid City and I could potentially bring some crews over from there if I can’t find some solid help to hire! Anyway love the channel!

I’ve lived in both for 2 years each. In my 2 years in Missoula, we haven’t had a single hail storm. My 2 years in Billings we had at least 4 major storms where multiple friends needed a new roof. While I love them both. I think Billings would be better for your business

Thank you for the small tour around Missoula. I was born and raised there and moved away in 92 when I joined the Air Force. It was a fantastic place to grow up as a kid in the 70's and 80's. We could ride our bikes from the south hills all the way to Greenough park on the north side and not have a care in the world at that time. Over the years coming back to visit family and friends I have seen the city explode in population and traffic growth at what seems like hundreds of proportions. My childhood home is still on the street I grew up on, but the neighbors homes have all been raised and new apartment buildings put in their place. The once small town feel of Missoula is gone, it has definitely taken on the big city vibe just like Bozeman. Even though my life and career have moved me to a different State, I'll always be a Montanan. The goal is to retire back in the state someday, I just hope we can afford it.

Remo Tecate. I lived a few winters in Msla while in college at UM. The smell from the pulp mill in the '70s was a horrible thing. Otherwise, it wasn't bad winters. One almost never saw the sun because of temperature inversions that made living there almost like living in a bowl of oatmeal. Smog must be worse now that there are more people and wood smoke from heating. Maybe there are ordinances and prohibitions on wood heating now, too. I don't know. I have a dear cousin who lives in a HOA controlled suburb. She has her complaints about MT at her age, but she can't move to somewhere better, mainly because there is nowhere else better. Msla is beautiful in spring, summer and autumn -- not so much in winter due to air quality. Temps are typical all over anywhwre in MT. I live near Bozeman now and it is getting near intolerable with growth and traffic.

That style of pricing will not take off around the country. You guys are special. You’re sacrificing some profit for the good of the community. The rest of the country wouldn’t do this (major city and surrounding areas, where I’m from). They’ll pluck you for every last dime in your pocket. Everything around here is no contingency with escalation clauses attached. Thanks for your awesome videos 👍🏻

Wow I loved learning about the home strategy that they are doing in Missoula to provide affordable homes for people. My partner and I moved across the country to Colorado now in Oregon, and it has been a major let down. We are hoping to move to a place that is more wholesome and safe and welcoming 😣 it’s been quite challenging finding a place to call home but we feel close. His one coworker lives in Missoula and she enjoys it with her husband. We love the outdoors and all kinds of sports and small friendly town folk and quiet peaceful slow living❤️✨ so I hope this place works for us because Oregon is just not at all what we thought... it really is going downhill unfortunately... due to politics and the types of people moving here, and we just can’t take that.

My wife and I, and our daughter's family are looking into moving towards Missoula but we would prefer to buy a place with some land. Maybe within 30-45 minutes of Missoula. We would love to come into town on Saturdays to shop and catch a game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I've lived in Missoula off and on now since the mid 80s, with continuous stretches of residency as long as 10-years, and quite honestly, it's no better or worse than any other place in the intermountain west, but there are a number of things people should know. The sun RARELY shines here, VERY rarely, and winters, are far-far longer than most people are will to recognize or admit. True summer, can only be found here in July and August. That's it! September brings fall, and winter typically lasts from October through May, bounded on both sides by rain and perpetually grey skies. The availability of both housing and jobs is atrocious, and the median priced home is WAY beyond the reach of most wage-earners or even many salaried professionals. Politically speaking, it's a college town, with 85-90% of the communities revenue stream coming directly or indirectly from student loan money, period! So it is populated largely by young, liberal, woke, indoctrinated, unsophisticated, shallow-minded, y- and z-gener neo-Marxists.

Lots of things to do that you can’t do like you need to wear a mask in Missoula in Idaho you don’t and never have. Lots of more fishing and hunting traveling to Spokane is just 1 hr away! Idaho does have sales tax unlike Montana but Montana property is so expensive because they have no sales tax. Just love Idaho I absolutely hate Missoula Montana.

If you are moving to Montana to get out of big cities, Missoula is not for you. We have been there last July, the court house was boarded up due to protests, lots of homeless in downtown. Out of all the towns we have been to in Montana, Missoula was our least favorite. We came from a big city area and Missoula was not fun. But if you enjoy college vibe and don't mind the weed smoking crowds and everything that comes with college towns then it's a place for you. The nature is pretty and nice restaurants in that area. Let's just say it's a very vibrant town and for some it might be a bit too vibrant. I wouldn't raise my kids there, despite all the amenities available.

I moved to Missoula this past year and I love the place, but I'm paying $1500 + for a one bedroom and they're going to raise my rent by over $200 next year so I have to leave, unfortunately. It's really sad because I finally thought I had found a place where I was comfortable living. This is what happens when you have 'progressive green' policies that restrict growth and overly inflate the housing market of a place--you end up screwing everyone who lives there. Just look at the difference with Billings--you can rent a 3-bedroom house for about $1300 or $1400 a month or a 1-bedroom for $600-700, and the population of Billings is exploding more than Missoula's. Ann Arbor, Michigan has the same kinds of green growth policies as Missoula and now a normal person simply cannot afford to live there. No amount of subsidized housing initiatives can save a city once it destroys its own housing market. Yet they respond by saying that the people who wanted to move there were the entire problem. Or you could just encourage more housing to be developed? There is no shortage of space south of the city. But hey, at least there are colored bike lanes...

Skip Missoula, it's a miserable place - the Bitterroot Valley is the best place in the state!

Bitterrooters are generally conservative, Zootowners are predominately liberal and imitating California.
