Norway is "pleasantly boring" - everything is so perfect and drama free that you end up bored but in a pleasant way. I am American who has been there for almost a decade, receiving my passport last year.

I am Norwegian and I have never tried, nor heard anyone else try fish eyes... Are you sure the people who prepared these eyes was not messing with you guys and having fun??? Cod tongue is more common, although I don`t eat it, but I have never heard anyone eat fish eyes...

Dane here. The cod head was boiled along with the fish, then I was a kid. Dad or Grandpa made us try the eye, because there is a small "pearl" inside. We played with the pearl for a couple of days. Though we never got a collection of "cod pearls". But a bowl of boiled fish eyes -no.

As a 53 years old Norwegian, I can't remember to ever have seen canned chicken. And I've never ever heard about anyone serving bowls of fish eyes... Superfun to hear all the positive stuff you have to say about our country and your experiences here, though :)

Your Norwegian is really good. I can pick out with a few of your words that Norwegian is your second language, but not that many words. You sound like my aunt that is from Bergen when she try to speak my dialect and it turns out like textbook bokmål. No one actually speaks bokmål, everyone has some dialect. My own dialect is close to bokmål, but not quite.

Det er også veldig trivelig å se at mennesker fra andre land trives her. Tror kanskje jeg blir litt mer patriotisk av det. :)

We're "very much a first world country"?? :D We are the only country in the world that have a 11000 billion dollars in "savings" in the "oljefond". America has like...$31,326,102,986,765 in debt. :D
