If you are thinking about moving to Redmond Oregon it would help to know a little more about it. In this video we talk about hte pros and cons of moveing to redmond versus the big brother Bend Oregon. Both have great advantages and disadvantages.

Don't care for bend oregon or its issues but have been looking towards Redmond. Cheers from brookings oregon.

I love Redmond. Moved here after 22 years in Bend and yes it is peaceful. Also closer to Smith Rock. 😁

What he doesn’t mention about the airport is, because it is a “small city”, when the jets do take off it is LOUD. The prop planes were not as loud and the sound dissipated quicker than the jet engines. Also, during the “fire season” there are A LOT of heavy tanker jets taking off from Redmond, it is quite a racket.

I currently live in California but I’ve lived in 9 different states including Oregon. How is Redmond for retirees?

Fantastic, in the right communities. My grandma is retired and in Redmond, and she loves it.

After living Redmond for a while and being born and raised in Oregon. Honestly the pros are heavily out weighed by the cons. If you like going on walks Redmond isn’t your place most trucks or cars rather speed up to hit you then stop. Want to ride a bike? Nope you get people rolling coal next to you and yelling at you to get a car. Want to go to one of our amazing parks? Think again! People want to yell at each other about politics. Have kids and want to do anything fun? To bad! You have to go to Bend. Id say about 50% of the people are amazing out here and super nice, but the other 50% openly despise most people. Living in Redmond officially made me fall out of love with small town America and also Oregon.
