I'm a New Yorker and London is my favorite city to visit. However, Asia is my favorite region in the world to travel having grown up in the US, it's just more exciting to me than Europe or America.

2:10 not perhaps as large in numbers found in London, but you’ll be surprised how widely represented our expat, and citizens are. Also, arguably “culturally diverse” in Singapore is more harmonious albeit managed. But London (not to mention UK) definitely offers more hands down historically and geographically. 14:38 I’m with you about Michelin restaurants! LOL Love how casual & relaxed you two are.

Lovely video! Details shared on travel was good prior to Covid, however post Covid, traveling from Singapore to anywhere let alone South East Asia is out of the question. But travel from London to rest of the world is pretty much back to normal now ;). Having said that, it must be said that there are very very few cities as safe or more safer than Singapore, can't say the same about London unfortunately :(

Great video. Thought Disagree on finding a job. I guess if you are from UK finding job in London is easier, however if you need a work permit Singapore seems to be much more straightforward and welcoming for foreigners vs UK. Judging by personal experience only of cause:).

Wait what kind of white milk do you guys purchase in Singapore. My favourite kinds are like Meiji Milk, which costs $5+ for one huge bottle. And probably about $3 for a smaller bottle.

There are different “grades” of supermarkets in Singapore - the more affordable options would be Prime/Sheng Siong or Giant; Cold Storage and Jason’s Marketplace being the opposite end. Even with a chain like FairPrice, you have the more expensive “FairPrice Finest” to the regular FairPrice. Having said that, anything imported would definitely be more expensive especially wine and cheese.

Yes that is one downside for some people (especially british people because a lot of us lot love tobacco and alcohol) i do not drink alcohol so this dosent affect me. However, the fact that cigarettes and vapes are very expensive in singapore compared to the uk and in singapore there are only certain spaces and designated boxes where it is legal to smoke in however in the uk basically anywhere outside that is not private property or places without signs saying no smoking you can pretty much smoke in most outdoor spaces.

singapore is good but the only draw back is dual citizens. as a American citizen you can't have dual.. its a great place to live but you can't beat Manhattan!!

Definitely prefer London over Singapore by a mile! The costs in SG is so unreasonably expensive and I get it because of import tax and it’s a small country but why must you be financially punished for it? Besides the country is slowly moving towards a chinese dominated environment so you’d soon have to learn chinese as well. Also, the max tax in SG is 33% if I’m not wrong which is close to 40%. If you have a son he’s forced to go into NS which takes away 2 years of his life when he could focus on something more beneficial towards his life. There may be low crime rate but there’s high racism in Singapore. The houses here are also really small for such a steep price. It’s not exactly a pretty country unless you’re insanely rich to not be affected by any of the cons I listed out.

Get your facts correct. Singapore's highest personal income tax is 22% which is applicable if your taxable income is SGD320K and above or about GBP175K. UK VAT is 20% while Singapore GST is 7%. Singapore's corporate tax is 17%. This is one of the reasons many companies have set up their regional offices in Singapore. Even Dyson has moved its global HQ to Singapore and has set up a R&D centre here.

I have a Scottish father and a Singaporean mother. I grew up in London and Singapore. I have never been treated like a foreigner in the U.K., whereas in Singapore, I have sometimes been(even though I speak Mandarin and a smattering of Malay). The level of casual racism in Singapore is definitely higher as well.

In Singapore Chinese are starting to adopt Mainland China mentality & are becoming racist, especially after Covid. If you try renting a house, an agent will literally decline you on the basis of your race in Singapore now a days !! Think Singaporeans ! Not heading in a right direction.

One thing I hate about Singapore is the unfair employment practices pushed by government. If you are a foreigner then you are looked down upon by locals here, they dont say it to your face by in their inner circles they all bitch about foreigners in the city forgetting that the foreigners have made their city rich ! I would hate to see this protectionism shrink the Singapore's international stature just because of such petty politics. That will stop only when some PAP leader with real spine emerge again.

There is always pros and cons in every country, I mean we Singaporeans also can't stand the weather here but no choice, so if there is chance to travel we would prefer to travel during winter to feel the cold.

London is a shite hole mate. I don't even want to visit there more than once a year or so. Living standard, work life balance etc are much better in the countryside.
