I used to live by ASU and its crazy how much it has expanded over the last 10-15 years.

You have to take a ride in a Waymo! I thought the same thing at first too, but feels very safe after your first ride.

the worst thing was the constant loud airplane noise with the planes taking off over the river which is on the north end of tempe

You forgot to mention Bikini Beans! Mill Street is great, especially Culinary Dropout. Tempe is the only place I stay when in town for business.
