17:06 i can relate.i did the same shit but mine was Rave and acid house and then festivas too.everything had to be extra and rock n roll 🤘.we all go through stuff and we all drag people through the shit unintentionally. when you recognise it ,its half the battle. My advice is uninvited so i will zip my lip and let you walk your own path. Your good lads though. Just dont ever take your friends for granted.trust me on that👊

Currently renting a place where I have gas and electricity cards/keys. I’d never heard of it either. Getting fleeced by larger tariffs because of it too. It’s a disgrace.

Get a credit meter in you can its not your landlords decision, he or she has no say so you are allowed to get a credit meter put in

I've just realised that all the things wrong with your house that deemed it "the worst house ever" were also present in my 2nd year house in Notts. Never again. Metal light switch that zapped you, radiators needed bleeding, peeling carpets, damp, yet with the addition of homeless people smoking on the doorstep because they thought nobody was home (too expensive to have lights on) haha. Proper formative experience

If you end up in a shithole like this int he future, or if anyone else reading this is currently in one, don’t bother trying to communicate with the landlords cos they’ll just fuck you off. Go straight to the council and report it as uninhabitable, because when they investigate the landlord will have their licence to rent taken off them, they’ll get fined and you’ll likely get all the rent back plus expenses to rehouse you.

That's not a landlord that's a slumlord! And they had a f'in' cheek charging you for anything when you could have reported them to the council, who would have condemned the place as a grade 1 health hazard and unsafe. They would have ordered the work to be done before they could rent it out again and would probably have done the same for the shop.
