For the wall behind your bed, instead of buying art, what about getting large prints made of a few of your travel photographs so it will add color and be personal 📷

🙋🏽‍♀️ Pro painter here. When trying to cut into trim you have 2 options: 1. Use (blue) frog tape. Lightly “cut” the wall with your trim color first. If you don’t have the trim color, use clear caulking. The tape is meant to puff up when it gets wet, but most people will go straight in with the wall color. Thats what causes the bleeding. 2. Run a small bead of white caulking along trim. Even if your wall is textured, the caulking will give you a smooth line to cut over. You can free hand it after the caulking dries. Hope this helps. Loving how your place is coming together!! ❤

Frog tape!!!! You tape the lines out with the green frog tape and then use a damp towel and run it all along the tape line. The moisture will activate the seal on the frog tape and you get super super crispy paint lines. Otherwise if you just go in straight with paint it seeps under and gives you bumpy lines. So wetting it first and then letting it dry is the magic trick.

I wish you luck with your health issues. I know all too well that advocating for yourself is essential. I bounced around between doctors for five years for help with chronic back/ hip pain. Finally a MRI revealed herniated and bulging discs as well as a pinched sciatic nerve. What a relief to actually hear what some would consider “bad news”, but it was a concrete diagnosis and surgery was the fix. Everything went well and I have been ruthless in my pursuit of answers to other health questions ever since. You’re on the right track ! Xoxo.

for art, check out some local thrift shops / antiques or online second hand. Nothing beats "real" art and frames rather than just high reproduction prints from department stores.

super protein dessert: single serving: 1/2 cup high protein Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of peanut butter powder or more to taste (i use chocolate peanut butter powder), melt a small handful (prob 1/4 cup dark chocolate (i used 70% cocoa) and 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil. put the yogurt mixture in a small cup, top with the melted chocolate and pop in fridge for about 10 mins. - a Reese Cup dessert that will keep you full!

I’m diabetic so I eat high protein low carb low sugar. For breakfast I buy or cook hard boiled eggs. I cut 2 in half, take out the yolks, smash up half an avocado w the yolks and season to your liking, add smash back to the halved egg whites kinda like deviled eggs and a handful of blackberries. Also I love those Fairlife protein drinks too. They’re low sugar and I buy them from Amazon ❤

We painted a dark navy wall last year, and what worked for us was using frog tape on the spot where the trim meets the wall, then painting along that tape edge with a coat of the trim paint (it’s fine that it gets on the wall because you’re about to paint the wall). That way, if any paint is going to seep under the tape onto the trim, it’s the trim paint. Let that dry, then paint your wall and peel the tape when the wall paint is still wet.

I heard someone once say. One layer of white paint on the opposite side then a layer of tape dping the line and then another layer of tape and add the dark colour. This will allow for a crispy line between two shades

For art in your bedroom you could do large photos from your travels, maybe in a sepia filter or something warm toned. Loving the green 💚 🖼️ edit: I just realized other people commented the same thing lol

Protein bagels in the air fryer! One cup self rising flour, one cup plain Greek yogurt mixed together for a dough. Do an egg wash on top and put them in the air fryer for 10 mins at 350. You can do everything bagel seasoning, cinnamon sugar, whatever you want and they are AMAZING!

Add a flavored protein powder and hemp hearts to your oatmeal. A serving of hemp hearts alone is 10 grams of protein.

As a parent of a daughter with chronic illness and a best friend to someone with a daughter with chronic illness, I am glad you have more information to help you. The challenges are real and as a female, ever changing as you age. You're most definitely right. You can feel crazy at times but even though you may not know what it is you're never crazy. If you ever felt up to it I would love a deep dive on how your chronic illnesses have changed and how your dealing with it. I’ve definitely been struggling hard with mine. Been completely overwhelmed by it all. Never thought I’d be almost 30 and having motorized wheelchair consultations to help me save my joints.

Oh and for over the bed wall art - a neutral woven wall hanging would add softness and warmth and much easier to pick than a picture xxx

The 3M Velcro things are my favorite wall hanging apparatuses. Way easier than trying to dicker with nails. You literally just stick them to the back of whatever you’re hanging and then, making sure it’s level, stick it to the wall.

Maybe a heavy quilt like hanging or tapestries with the colors you like makes a cozy,quieter vibe . A picture or painting is nice but I like the look of the fabric. I’ve seen them hung w different curtain rods! Just a idea

My dad is a house painter. Put a bead of caulk in the seam and take your finger down it to make it very smooth. Then let it dry and then cut the edge/corner. It works so much better. Game changer for us. 😊

A level is a handy thing to have...most rooms aren't built completely square so measuring from the ceiling wont be accurate.

I paint for a living and it’s 100x easier to put trim paint on once the wall is painted. Rather than trying to paint your wall color with the trim color already done. Gravity is your enemy! Just take some white paint and repaint the top of the trim!

Amazing. I painted a living room wall this color back in '79. I absolutely loved it. Made you feel like you could disappear into it like a forest and was very zen. I hope it brings you some of the same vibes. Colors can be magical.

For wall art, you can try looking for works of metal or decorative mirrors. I have mirrors everywhere because they easily take up wall space without being tacky

There’s like this square “brush” you can use from he/lowes. It’s like a flat square plastic piece that holds like a felt material that’s used for edging. I think it’s called pro edge or or diy edge. Super helpful

Every time I go to a new doctor, after a bunch of exams they go "good news there is nothing wrong with you" and all I can think is "well I'm still in a lot of pain so I don't know if that is as good of news as you say" so I understand you with the "bad news but are good news".

I also have high bedroom ceilings and a neutral color scheme and I similarly struggled with finding art for above the bed! I finally settled on a floating shelf above the headboard, with books and a tall plant to add height and color, and then added framed prints on either side above the nightstands. I love the look!

Yes advocate for yourself! I’m going through that now found a new doctor who wanted to do additional testing so now I’m waiting for results. I already know some of what’s going on but apparently it could possibly be worse 🙃

My current favourite protein snack: hummus, cottage cheese, & sriracha mixed together. I use it as a dip for nacho's, veggie sticks, or with turkey ham & cheese as a rollup. As a snack this gets around 7.5g of protein from the dip alone, or 13g with turkey ham, more with cheese etc..

I love blended cottage cheese as a base for sauces and dips! I agree its so good in eggs!

Painters tape. Paintable caulk where the tape meets the wall. Then paint. Crisp lines every time!

For dark colors, a paint edger that’s the best way, two coats and then paint the wall. My custom has a navy blue in his office and the lines came out pretty straight

I think it’d look cozy, and be a super personal touch to your space. I love looking at the photos on my wall, brings me a lot of joy to actually have photos printed out. And it’s something you can update easily when you want to print new photos. 😊

I absolutely love these room makeover organization videos! I’ve lived in my place for about a year and a half and you’re giving me motivation to finally make the space my own! I also love the color of the green wall. I know it was a pain in the neck but it looks awesome.

I’m in my first trimester right now and trying to get as much protein as I can stomach. My savior has been plain nonfat Greek yogurt mixed with onion soup mix (and I add a little lemon) to make French onion dip with chips lol you could also blend cottage cheese and mix it with the Greek yogurt and ranch seasoning to make a high protein veggie dip that actually has the right dip consistency.

Totally understand about the health stuff. I had chronic migraines and hashimotos, then i got long covid. It's been years of fighting doctors and insurance but getting an actual diagnosis is so helpful.

for the protein- i just started making pancakes where i do a packet of protein oatmeal, 1 egg, a couple spoons of cottage cheese, a little baking powder, cinnamon, and berries and it's so good! could add vanilla extract too and sugar free syrup

I have been loving the tuna creation pouches with hard boiled eggs on sourdough for lunch. And then sourdough with cottage cheese and hot honey for a snack!

Plant protein so easy to just add some chickpeas, lentils, beans or meals like salads, sauce etc. plus gives you way more fibre than animal protein does. Which most ppl lack!

I’ve seen so many drs and had so many tests over the years and still don’t know what is wrong with me. I found some stuff that kind of helps, but I’m still not where I was or where I want to be. Still searching. I totally get what you mean about them finding something. I always want something to just come back so then I have something to work off of.
