We sail to Westfjords for some SKIING and reveal a bit about our next (own) boat! I spent a TON of time putting this one together. For example the footage was gathered from 7 different cameras 😨. Hope you enjoyed! Although we were hoping to go to Greenland on Arktika, we're super duper excited for the next chapter in our adventures... We finally found a suitable boat, and it's going to be great to have our own one again!

I wonder if the engines couldn't be fitted with engine block heaters. They are mostly used for car engines but have also been used in aircraft engines. Mainly oil heaters and coolant warmers. They use a good amount of electricity but the benefits may be worth it. I don't see a reason that they aren't used on boats.

Hi Juho, this episode is absolutely epic - it is just so good and I am so excited for you. Your sailing channel is THE best one out there! Fabulous dry humour and very nice shots of the ice on the railings of the boat and also directly in front of the bow... I will be a bit envious of your midnight ski tours later this Spring when everyone else is tucked up in bed!

Having watched Uma do Norway, Svalbard, and Iceland, and having enjoyed all 4 episodes of 80 North, I really enjoy your view of things in the north. As a boy I camped in -20 F and had no problems. Now that I have lived three score and ten years I like to watch the cold from afar. Fond greetings from the piedmont of Georgia, USA.

Always keep an eye on ice buildup, as it can make the boat very top heavy and can capsize it easily.

Winterising the engines while anchoring seems to be an awful lot of trouble. You could fit a small hot air heater in the engine room. A small, self-contained unit like Wallas 1300 would probebly be the simplest to fit and should solve the problem of freezing.

Stunning scenery and although I’m no skier it looked amazing. I did gasp seeing those two jump in, I could feel how cold it was lol. I’m new to watch Your channel I seen when you first got your new boat how you went from the cold to the heat . Scenery is breathtaking I’m from Southern California X surf bomb 63 years old I can imagine what it was like dropping down that hill skiing with no tracks on it . Thermal shock is very dangerous too. I've seen people get into difficulties in much milder water.

Really beautiful area..not many people around here, on the east coast of Canada, sail in the winter. A lot of wind! I wouldn't be in water, this time of the year! Burrrr! Good luck on your new boat! Great video!
