I wanna start off by saying I absolutely do not judge you. My heart goes out to both of you because you got into cohabitating without knowing the weight of how God feels about it. I’m happy that both of you actually care and are being convicted about it. I acknowledge how terribly hard it must be to know you’re doing something that doesn’t please God but it seems impossible or extremely hard to get out of. I know it doesn’t seem logical for either of you to move out but it won’t make God adjust His standards. Y’all can’t do this alone, you need help navigating this. I’d say talk to someone you respect in church that can guide you without judgement. I pray that God gives you both the grace, help and courage to do His perfect will.❤❤❤ Still love you both and are rooting for you.❤

Is it God’s standards, or Christian standards? 🤔 Important distinction.

@@SupernaturalLove100what do think the distinction is?
@tech_tm3874
@tech_tm3874 5 ай бұрын
All right. Google says cohabiting is when two people live together and have sex with each other, right? The distinction should be found between cohabiting and living together.... fornication: that's the distinction. I know i know, living together can lead to fornication, therefore it turns to cohabiting. Can we state that fleeing from sexual Immortality/perversion/fornication are the things that aren't only a limit of typical, habitual "God's standard" but a stance of obedience(that we're sustained by God alone)... Edit: standards can be habitual in a way that you've practiced abstaining that by your own practice you are sustained on your own( like when people are good people without God, which is blatantly self-righteousness *another distinction: religion leads to self-righteousness and so does being a freethinker(libertine). Morality occasioned by your own drive, has no backup(what is your reason for wanting to be good). I'll follow up by asking, what is the reason that you think I should do good in this world. All things lead to God,who is seated at heavenly places. The Judge! our defender against the accuser. We cannot be good without God. He's the center [i went off track, and i hope it's all right]h

I believe the bigger question to be considered here is, how much do you love God to where you are willing to put His will before your own. Because God calls us to love Him more than anything or anyone else. So how much do you love Him? Remember His great sacrifice, Jesus, how grateful are you to Him for that sacrifice ? Let this sacrifice of living together, etc be a sacrifice to Him as a thank you and an expression of real love for Him. Remember, this is what God ask of us, to truly keep Him first. In doing this you will reap favor and blessing upon the Lord for your union. When you look at it in these ways, is the sacrifice really that big compared to what Jesus did - his life, his death. - These words aren’t just for you but for me too, trust.

But this problem is easily solvable: just get married. If you do not want to get married (but continue having sex anyway) that's very telling not about your relationship with each other, but your relational position with God... which is actually kind of frightening.
@marciaoppong
@marciaoppong 6 ай бұрын
It is indeed. I’m not sure where they are at with this (didn’t listen to the whole episode), but marriage is not the wedding. If they know they wanna get married, they can literally go to the courthouse and resolve this asap, and then plan for a wedding or celebration later. The Bible does not mandate a proposal with an engagement ring, nor encourage any particular type of wedding celebration. I didn’t have a wedding. We’ll do a beautiful vow renewal someday (maybe) when we are in a much better financial position than were when we first got married, not to mention the vows would certainly hold more meaning years into our marriage.

Didn’t Jesus attend a wedding celebration
@marciaoppong
@marciaoppong 5 ай бұрын
@@Tyjeaneee indeed He did. I believe of all the things in life that should be celebrated, marriage is a big one! This couple should absolutely celebrate their union, but at the level that they can afford right now. I don’t believe in, for example, being engaged for two years because you’re trying to save up $20,000 for a wedding. If you are ready to marry, get married, and do the celebration you can afford to do. It is not mandated to do the luxury celebration that we see so many couples do nowadays. So much of that is for show, for family, for themselves, but not (mainly) for the glory of God. I don’t agree with that. I believe God wants us to remain sexually pure until after marriage, and many don’t do that because they wait to get married thinking the wedding is more important than honoring God. When honoring God is the priority, you say, we’re not gonna go another day fornicating when we know for sure we wanna get married. We are just gonna seal our covenant before God and go forward in the sacred glory of marriage.

I’m truly praying you both. It’s not worth it to make excuses for sin that God has convicted you on. The sacrifices we make now cannot be compared to the glory that awaits those who are obedient to God when He comes. Our excuses hold no weight against His perfect standard. Just like Adam’s excuse was not acceptable to God is the same way ours are not. Remember that with every temptation God has graciously provided a way of escape (1 Cor. 10:13). In our temptations He invites us to come boldly before His throne and ask for help in our time of need (Heb. 4:16). God bless you both in your journey 🙏🏾🙏🏾

It’s not about whether something feels right or feels wrong. As Christians when we make decisions we should look at what the Bible says about something and go from there. Not our feelings because they can be wrong sometimes. With that being said yes people will feel convictions in their own time and people should show grace. And never be nasty or judgmental when giving advice (also using discernment of when to give advice) That doesn’t stop sin from being sin though.

It may not be your intention to come across as Christian life coaches, but you guys have been such incredible role models for me, not only as a young person but also as a Christian. The world needs more Christian influencers like yourselves who are willing to be vulnerable and talk about the good and the bad, because you'd be so surprised at how many people are going through the same exact things, needing to know they're not alone. I will say it was super hard to try to please God when we were not walking together or evenly yoked, it seems like you guys are on the path to knowing him together, learning, and moving toward his purpose for you. He is merciful and gracious and I know as Christians we tend to lay the hammer down sometimes harder than God himself, but He does love you and will move in your heart as the conviction comes and you will join on that day knowing that you are making a covenant together with Him in the midst. Lean on him for his timing and his purpose for you!

I am confused by the comments. I think having these discussions is important and the question of if living together is the right thing for your journey and commitment to god is a valid question and a decision that must be made. However I do not recall that the Bible states that it is a SIN to live with a significant other. The only thing that is condemned is sexual immorality. If you are not being sexually immoral it comes down to how living together might encourage other kinds of sin, and should therefore (in due time) make your choice of no longer living together a lot easier. If anyone in the comments can provide further information on where the Bible states that it is a sin to live with a partner pls enlighten me or share your views and beliefs. Much love to you two on your journey.

It’s not a sin to live together but living with someone makes it that much harder to abstain and keep away from having sex before marriage. Imagine how much people already struggle just dating. It’s just putting yourself in an unwise situation. And couples should not live together before marriage unless the situation is completely unavoidable as in one or both is facing homelessness and or can’t afford to live on their own. Additionally in the first few minute of the podcast she said “ when you propose I’m going to be ready” , the fact that they are not even engaged and have been together for as long as they have is also another layer to it. Many times you have people in relationships for years with the intention that they will end up with that person and they don’t. But end up putting themselves in situations that result in sin.

There’s so much grace! More than y’all even know! It’s of course not excuse to continue on in sin, but sanctification is truly a process. Stay connected to the vine (which is Jesus) and submitted to Him and His will will be done in your lives 🫶🏾 I loved this episode! I don’t follow you guys closely but I see your videos pop up every blue moon. I saw that you guys posted about Jesus once and it’s so easy for us as Christian’s to want to immediately condemn other believers but it’s evident y’all are early in the journey and if I’ve learned anything as someone who thought they had Christianity down packed- it’s that purification never ends so even those who are a bit more mature in the faith God is still doing a work in them daily 🥲 Take it from me, you can do “all the right things” as a Christian and still have a jacked up heart. So I say that to encourage you to press on because it seems as though your hearts are in a sweet place of conviction and humility and God can work with that. 🤍 We all were once there no matter how much other Christians claim to be so holy. Yield to that conviction from the Holy Spirit cause there’s so much freedom on the other side of it, truly. And blessing! The flesh is weak but the spirit is willing Matthew 26:40. 🩷 I love James’ humility and Caleigha’s sensitivity to the spirit. James encouraging Caleigha that her feeling conviction is beautiful was such a heart warming thing to see. This is my first time watching, saw your video on my recommended page and I really appreciate the vulnerability. Most people when they are figuring out their relationship with God while at the same time, a relationship with a significant other is usually done in private. People will have a lot to say when judging from the outside. I will say that when I feel a conviction from God, I do not feel relief until I do what God is trying to tell me to do. However, ultimately the decision is between each other and God. I encourage you to lean into those convictions God is trying to tell you, and watch Him bear fruit in your lives for following Him. Also, a lot of times God calls us to do the uncomfortable and less convenient thing but in the end works for our good and shows His glory. We are put in situations that test our faith to show God, do we really trust Him like we say we do? What comforts are we willing to sacrifice for Him when the time comes? I hope you gain peace over any decision you make!

“I feel like God is disappointed in me.” 😔 That hurts my heart how you feel that way sis. For what it’s worth, I don’t know either of y’all personally but you seem to be really beautiful people who wouldn’t harm anyone. That to ME is the standard for God’s judgement; one’s soul, and how they treat others. Because of that, I can’t think that God would be disappointed in you because of your living situation, now, would other living people/Christians be? That’s a different story. I would encourage y’all to know the distinction. Bc I think we can conflate Spirit/God’s judgement w the judgement of others who preach the Word very strongly and make it seem as if there is only one way to have a relationship w God and any other way would be “sinful.” Honestly, as a Catholic that is more spiritual and not as devout, this is the thing about organized religion (and the Bible) that has always been insufferable to me, you know, the automatic guilt one is made to feel when they don’t follow every single verse and or scripture to a tea. I am of the belief that what feels right to YOU, without causing harm to anyone else, is what’s right. I also, like James mentioned, question certain parts of the Bible due to the amount of males who’ve written it and translated it into a thousand and sixteen languages. I do believe, due to the imperfection of human beings and their temptations to subjugate and or manipulate others, that there were people who added in concepts, judgements and incorporated THEIR beliefs while positioning them as the word of God. I have to go by what I feel the all merciful and beautiful God would actually say and condemn so I take everything w a grain of salt. I understand not everyone can b this way. But no one can tell me, or you, how to have your relationship with Him.
@christinaf.8213
@christinaf.8213 6 ай бұрын
I’m sure you mean well when you say this but God’s judgement is not dependent on how you feel as long as ‘you’re not harming anyone’. Never has been and never will be. The bible says the greatest commandment is to ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul’ (Matthew 22:36-40) so it means that if God approves or disapproves of something then as Christians we are to try and follow that. This has nothing to do with organized religion but your own personal relationship with God. If God convicts them about this and they go back to the bible to confirm that this is indeed something God has spoken on, then as a fellow Christian you shouldn’t be telling them to do what they feel as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. They are hurting God, hence the conviction in the spirit. And as Christians it is our duty to (sincerely and loving, not in a condemning way) let our fellow christians know when they are in the wrong (1 Corinthians 5:12) and additionally provide support and help because everyone (even Jesus was) gets tempted. Is it easy? Absolutely not, but them giving up something they enjoy for the sake of their relationship with God is far more important than how they feel in the flesh. We have to die to ourselves DAILY (Luke 9:23). Meaning it IS a struggle. It’s never a one a done. I’m glad they addressed this and I hope that this only strengths their relationship with each other but most importantly with God.

Take steps to intentionally work with the Holy Spirit to be and live like Christ according to His Word. Read books and listen to sermons,I’d suggest Jackie Hill Perry . What God has joined together… the legal portion, the signing of paperwork is for assets and kids (mans law). people join in marriage for all different reason. please do not confuse the two.

I’m so confused…in another video Caleigha said she dropped out of school to focus on being a content creator. Now she says she graduated …..🤷🏽‍♀️🙄 which one is it? Also, I love The Lord also, & it’s definitely not easy to walk this walk, but the Holy Spirit gives us, strength, guidance, direction so continue to pray & trust The Lord for a deeper walk with Him, for the Holy Spirit to be manifested in your lives, & He will lead you. Also praying for Caleigha’s condition, (ADHD) because it’s so hard to watch her talk on incessantly & then lose her thought, & James just keeps on hanging on! God bless you man….🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🙄🤷🏽‍♀️😉 btw, Caleigha be kind to James, let him talk! 🤭🤭🤭

People don't know the struggle we all go through..after my divorce I decided that marriage (certificates and wedding) was not for me I was open to live with someone and just go with the flow and I would say that's between me and God but the thought of having sexual relationship with my partner with no marriage even at a court house would put me in the same place you guys are in..I would be having tough conversations with God and myself everyday. You don't have to have a big wedding,you guys love eachother..you have lived together long enough to know you can survive anything..so just think about it

No those things you two are doing and you say you're Christians. Are definitely not Christian like. You must've come from a Christian home and as young people we have to grow. Well it is your decision I loved the Lord so much until I made a decision. You guys have to make your own decisions.

For you to comment this is so messed up. You don't know their walk with Christ and everyones convictions are different. At the end of the day we all sin and fall short of the glory of God and we're no better than the next man. I pray you realize how judge mental this comment was
@clydia5497
@clydia5497 6 ай бұрын
No, I said that they are young. Read before comment. The Bible says it is better to marry than burn. The Bible is literal it says and means what it says. Yet, it's their life and depends on how much they say they are Christians. I am truly guilty of sitting in the church and not following the Bible.

@@clydia5497 yes you're right I agree with everything you said but you simply could've just said that rather than coming off in a judge mental way. God don't need nobody to do any conviction for Him.

@@SavedbyHisGraceXo I see that they are young but, if we are never corrected how do we learn. Judgement is sometimes needed. As Began to write I was reminded of my youth. My letting you no what the Bible says on it is my love to you. For GOD. So love the world that he gave his only begotten Son. I love the ppl so don't be upset. I want them to marry.

Yikes 😳 the judgement in these comments is outrageous. I’m a Christian. I’m married. However I wasn’t always married….if we all had the same exact journey there would be no room to grow. If we were all perfect what would we learn from Jesus the one true perfect soul. Being a Christian means loving your neighbor, accepting your neighbor, meeting people where they are. Stop shaming this couple. Christians get a bad reputation by picking and choosing parts of the Bible to follow. It’s not ok for them to live together but it’s ok to judge them? Hmmmm hypocrisy *cough *cough. Mark 2:15-22, and Luke 5:29-39. The Pharisee rebuke Jesus for eating with sinners, to which Jesus responds, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." The narrative primarily shows Jesus' emphasis on mercy as opposed to self-righteous judgment.

Marriage in the world (the legal document) is not the same as married in the spirit. Do you feel committed to each other? I believe you have built your ministry. I believe that you are married in the spirit. Marriage in the world is about transference of property and legal protection. Do not let "the carnival" be the focus and do not let the Pharisees and Sadducees out in the world convict you for your living situation. God ordains marriage--chosen. People get married everyday and they are not committed to growing together. The document means absolutely nothing if you are not committed to God as the head of that marriage/ministry. The most important thing is your commitment to God. If you want to get married, get married. But don't let the wedding of your dreams be the deterrent or the delay. If God called either of you home, would you be okay knowing that you have put marriage off for the wedding of your dreams? No regrets.

THIS I needed to hear this so bad. I'm 18 years old and my boyfriend is 20. I know me and my boyfriend are married in the Spirit. I've been praying that God shows me a sign on what to do because we want to get married but neither of our parents would support our decision of marriage simply because we're "too young". We are very committed to God together and the Lord told me we're meant for each other.
