This really resonates with me, living with type I since the age of 27. It is hard work that never ends, but you can learn to seek the positive too!

I got diabetes at the age of 29. My insulin production has dropped to type 1 now, after 40years. I am still managing with tablets. No bread pasta potatoes or rice. Only very low carb peas and beans. Also leafy vegetables.

I have LADA which is type 1.5. The gift of type 1 and type 2 combined. Ckd and atherosclerosis to boot. When I went into ketoacidosis, I lost 55 pounds in 2 months. My drs thought it was cancer and misdiagnosed me until last week. I kept waking up with hypoglycemia. My blood sugar was 51 at the lowest. I wasn't dizzy. I also have hypothyroidism and vitiligo. Ironically, my blood sugar was always perfect until my latest increase in Levothyroxine and that is when my blood sugar began to drop into the 50s. When I wake up, I check my blood. I eat a banana and recheck 15 minutes later. The 15/15 rule. 1 banana puts my blood sugar level back up into a normal range. I'm not planning on taking insulin shots 6 times a day.

Got out of the Hospital a few weeks ago DKA ! A1C 15 and sugars 535 headed towards Organ failure Coma were words used but i bounced back increasingly so i was headed towards an aweful end & they said i had Covid 3 days later left with Diabetes ! They saud it would be days or weeks to lower my sugars so dont be scared if 200s are a thing well my numbers dropped i even had 70 and shook and trembked ! Had to get juice long story short they now believe i might be 1.5 type family has lupus , rheumatoid arthritis and me a couple of types high ANA . Also lymph gland surgery at 19 but im over weight i was eatting horrible im 195 so i do fit all but numbers ect i want off of insulin i cut carbs down to less then 100 a day my numbers are now 120 to 90s also blurry constant vision eye doctor and dr. Said it would go away i have good viens and eye looks wonder they said swollen back of eye so im praying it goes away. Anyway what do you think also im 51 and since my DKA two weeks ago i use insulin.

My abdominal abnormal pregnancy makes my untreated blood glucose worsening with no much energies at all, greatly affecting my daily routines, unworkable head at post menaupose older age near 56, horrible.can any medical professional researchers could recommendeffective oral medication to me?

When I tell people I'm diabetic I really feel extremely judged by non diabetics, they ask well what are you doing to make your numbers high, should you be eating that? Then when I go into dka they ask well what did you do wrong!! Does anyone else experience the frustration from this at all

I have lately noticed that im more tired than usual and more thirsty than usual, i also had a scary episode where my vision went a little blurry for a few hours. Is it possible im getting diabetes in my 30s?

Hi there - diabetes can affect anyone at any age, so we'd recommend speaking to your local healthcare professional or GP about your symptoms as they would need to run some tests to give you a formal diagnosis. 💙
