Lauren, my wife and I are so appreciative of your videos. She was diagnosed with primary progressive MS just under a year (we found out on Halloween- no kidding - I guess we got the trick). She started on Ocrevus January of this year and is doing good. One day at a time. You are touching people’s hearts and we just wanted to say thank you. Mike and Ren.

I have trouble with anxiety, and for me, I think it's a complex problem with brain chemistry at the root of the problem caused by MS. Because of it, I have trouble sleeping. My mind races at night. I also have a lot of pain from spasticity when trying to sleep, but the Baclofen helps with that. I'll talk with the doctor about Klonopin. Maybe my brain will calm down! I hope it doesn't cause drowsiness, though. Some of my anxiety is also from worrying about waking up in the morning in time for work. Additionally, I'm having anxiety dealing with decline in cognition (especially in regards to memory of names). I hate not being normal! I also will be happy when cool weather arrives! It's not here in Texas, yet! Thanks for your videos, Lauren! I've watched you since your first videos in 2007. They've helped me s lot!

Hi Debbie! My mind also races at night. I also worry about waking up in the morning in time for everything that is happening. For me, Klonopin does not cause drowsiness. Definitely talk to your doctor. Cognition is horrible for me. It's been hard to make a video because I am so insecure about it! I sure hope the cool weather comes soon in Texas! I'm so happy you've been watching my videos from the beginning! I wish you the very best with everything!

I know these are older Lauren but I just found you on KZfaq and I love your videos. I have been wanting to start my own channel for MS and mental health but haven't taken the leap yet. I am not so sure I will do great in front of the camera. I talk very fast(ADHD). I totally agree with everything you are saying here and I also take clonazepam as well. I have been on it for almost a decade and I take 3mg a day, I used to take 4mg a day but went down one. I want to get off of it because after a decade it helps a lot less than it used to. I can take 4mg at once and not even get anxiety relief anymore. The problem is I can do the taper and all that but even if I get down to taking .5mg every other day as soon as I fully stop the full withdrawal still comes on and I just can't handle it. I've been through withdrawal before(many times) and I don't want to do it again so I guess I am just taking it for life. The scariest thing is the recommended period of time someone takes a benzodiazepine is 2-3 weeks I believe and you and I and so many others have been on them for years or more. They permanently alter the way our brains work and I am guessing mine has already been re-wired after a decade of daily use of it.I want to ask you so many questions but I imagine I will find a lot of the answers in your videos. I am 40 by the way and was diagnosed at age 28 but had symptoms since age 20-21 or so. Your dogs are cute, I live alone except when my daughter is here and I have always had a cat but for the first time I don't so I've been looking into rescuing a new kitten because I know it will improve my mental health. I would get a dog but I like cats better, haha and I don't live in the best neighborhood to be walking a dog at night alone. Anyway if you read this thanks, remember above I said I have ADHD, well this is what happens when I want to write a 2-3 sentence comment. It turns into a book hahaha. I hope you are well and I relate to so much of what you are saying, going through, and have gone through.

Yes, I too suffer from anxiety. I was on Alprazolam until someone gave me a virus. It turned into damaged nerves in my mouth, leading into burning mouth syndrome. So, Klonazepam took care of it, but does nothing for anxiety for me. I have a non-benzodiazepine, Buspirone is my go to (I had a car accident, separation from a marriage of 22 years, and bankruptcy). Thank You for opening dialogue and you have in your background that helps mine...music therapy. I too play piano and violin. It’s what is helping my Secondary Pro from the deteriorating effects. It has helped reroute my destroyed nerves, and being stubborn to not succumb to the limitations as “the end of the world.” Lastly, I keep a hour, separate from any others, where I daily write 3 positive things about that day. Positive Psychology is very helpful. Again, your beaming face on MS has been an intense kindness and comfort. You have not only battled, you have won in your unknowingly positive outreach. Thank You. Jdg Worsham (no one ever thought MS with a teenager in the 1980’s. That’s when it began, and I taught myself piano, not knowing it would save me from 30-something lesions and a black spot of dead brain on the MRI. Once discovered 15 years later, it took 4 Neuro’s to find the one I need. That’s my short story.) My email, if you could please send the name of the med that prevents your falls, is thetexasjudge@gmail.com. I’d appreciate it.

I love your videos Lauren and so happy you are doing so good! I was diagnosed in 2004 with rrms not until last year did I have any symptoms but now it is with walking. My neurplogist and husband say I am doing great but I say different - I walk slower and my left leg and foot is the worst but it is doable and I get by I just wish I could walk like I use to - that gives me the most anxiety. I am not one to ask for any help either. I am on an antidepressant for exhaustion too. you are so upbeat and I realize many have it much worse than me but it stinks! I am trying but I always have in my mind the worst case sonario but I get a lot out of your videos so thank you!

I have a lot of anxiety related to some of my symptoms and just the unpredictability of this disease. A few years ago I was numb from head to toes, and that feeling gave me incredible anxiety! I take Xanax, but try to limit it to 1 - 4 times a week. Lately I’ve been struggling with the MS hug, and it’s been making me short of breath, which makes me anxious and even more short of breath! Luckily the Xanax helps with the anxiety and the hug. I also meditate and do some breathing exercises, which helps more than I thought it would. I love your videos - you are so positive!!

Lauren, thank you. It feels like you are right here! And I love the fall, too. I feel bad for you because of your anxiety. MS just sucks. I also have bad anxiety since my last relapse, and diagnosis. Could almost not see for months and did not know what was happening. Could not feel my feet and hands, just thinking was hard. Still recovering step by step. On tysabri. But oh, that anxiety and depression. I take queziapine. Also helps for light and sound sensitivity. Am on the waiting list for a psycologist. Still. I try not to get too tired, not too many stimuli, that is important for my anxiety. Getting enough sleep, if needed with meds. Eat an drink enoug. O, and waiting rooms are bad for me. I wish you all the best. Thank you for what you do!! Much love.

I struggle with anxiety as well. I even get it when I'm around a group of people who are loud or there are too many conversations going on. I researched this and what happens to me is "sensory overload." Even happens to me at church unfortunately. I sometimes have to just remove myself from those situations. The heat and humidity here in the deep south does it too and causes me to have an exacerbation. I too have been on Klonipin over 10 years. Thank you so much for sharing your struggles and praises going through MS. I have followed you since you started posting videos. You have no idea how much they have meant to me as we have been on the same treatments at the same time.
