That flateplane sound is something else. I enjoy a V8 rumble just as much as the next guy, but that flat plane whine is something else and really pushes its way into ferrari territory. Ferrari may no care, but they will notice this car. I am very happy GM did the C8; while it doesn't appeal to me, i respect that it is an engineering masterpiece and is an amazing machine for what it is, especially in the Z06 guise.

The C8 Corvette Z06 is definitively a supercar to me. There is absolutely no question about it. It has everything a supercar should have and is everything a supercar should be. Price tag doesn't matter. What differentiates a sports car from a supercar is its status, its performance, and the engine itself. With regards to status, need I say anything? It's a Corvette, the staple American performance car. Performance? No problem. It has already proven to be a beast on the track, and it accelerates like a stabbed rat. That engine? In a world where engines like that simply no longer exist, and in a world where (at least over here in Britain) ICE's are about to die altogether, the LT6 is an absolute godsend. The Corvette is not a "fake wannabe supercar" anymore. It has become a proper supercar, a pretty amazing one at that. *if you couldn't already tell, I really like this car

Great video! One correction: there is NO artificial engine noise electronically pumped into this car. They did add custom baffles on the rear exhaust trumpets which reflect the *actual* engine noise via exhaust back to the cockpit, but that’s it.

Many of us lucky ones got our z06's at MSRP because we were smart enough to give that small deposit to one of the big well known corvette dealers back in 2019-2020. Those who waited for the debut in late 2021 and decided they wanted one can't get one at MSRP becuase it was too late to get on the wait list. Or if they did, won't see their car until 2025 or later. I got mine 2 months ago at around 120k. So yes it's a stripper model but i won't be tracking the car. It's literally my weekend toy. The car is an absolute animal and all these videos, showing the in car acceleration doesn't do it justice. The car is MUCH MUCH louder in person. Sometimes when i'm hanging onto the revs at 5500-6500 it's so loud i almost feel like i have to shift because i'm at the end of the rev range but i glance at the tach and i still have 2000rpm's to go. It's insane this car. Bravo to GM for creating a supercar.

A funny difference ive noticed between the car and bike world is with cars we go crazy over flat plane cranks and a lot of people tend to associate it with Ferrari supercars cos theyre most commonly found in their engines. Then meanwhile you have bikes where everyone loses it for Yamaha and their Crossplane crank engines that sound like mini American V8s

Didn't like the C8 at first, fell in love with it about a year ago, now it's definitely a dream car of mine, whether it be the Z06 or a Stingray. The rear looks fine, the front of this car is just a stunner, but the interior is what made me truly fall in love with it. I love the shapes inside, love the dashboard, love the center console, love the focus towards the driver and yet it feels like it is a nice place to be for a passenger too. I truly hope when I'm done with uni I can land a job that will allow me to get one (best if it's Z06 ofc) imported to Europe in ~5 years from now - there are a lot of cars that I would love to experience, that I would love to own, but this opens up the list in supercar category because of the price tag. It is a bargain for what you get imo, even with the import costs to EU. I love the fact that it was a longer video, certailny wouldn't mind it being even longer than that, it was a pleasure to watch you explore some twisty backroads in the middle of the day in a chill manner in a freakin Z06.

I prefer the sound of the 6.2, but the Z06 is on a whole new level overall. My boss drives one, all black. It’s badass!

Used 2023 Z06s are now selling for between $119K-$129K for the 1LZ with less than 4K miles (cargurus). Anyone paying markup for one of these things needs their head examined.

i haven' been in one personal but the POV of the interior is amazing. gives me more of a cockpit/personal feel because how close all the controls are. Almost identical to the 93-96 supra.

The car is totally awesome, the problem is the dealer mark-ups. The dealers are disrespecting the customers. I found a truly honest dealer Leach Wilson in Shelbyville IL. that is selling the Corvettes at MSRP. Yes that includes the Z06. I've been dealing with Aaron and he has been awesome, but so has everyone else at the dealership. I can't wait to take delivery, all I can say is thank you to these awesome guys.

As a corvette guy, I've loved them all my life. I got a C7 Z06 and was considering adding a C8 to my collection, but I couldn't get past the looks. Bought a 911 Turbo instead.

The fake noise is supposed to cancel out some of the harsh frequencies the engine makes, so the sound is more smooth sounding. They did the same thing with the exhaust tuning

I know how to beat its current configuration, add a manual. I understand the performance benefits of the auto but can’t embrace the disconnection of driver involvement. I worked 3 jobs whilst in high school (mid seventies) to buy a 1970 Corvette 454 coupe, dad (RIP) pitched in to help me afford it. The best one I found had the 3 speed automatic, disappointing but so clean it wasn’t a showstopper, $3,400 with 12,000 miles. Driving through the center of town I picked up a hitchhiker (you could back then) and after thanking me and a few seconds of silence he looked at the drivers side dash and asked “is that a tachometer?”, “yes it is” my reply. He glanced away and commented “a bit token in a car with an automatic isn’t it?”. I took him as far as I was going and we parted company. Every car (many) with sporting intent, from that day forward, was purchased with a manual. Not because of the hitchhiking hippie’s comment that day but for the sheer joy of driving evolvement a manual brings to the party. At my age I’m dead to Chevrolet, I know that, but with the move to auto only Chevrolet, and the new Corvette, is dead to me. Thanks for always sharing great content!

I drove a C8 Z06 in Portland Oregon it was a beautiful dark metallic red and I have to say it is the most fun car I have ever driven. I daily a F82 M4 and drive exotic cars frequently yet the Z06 just screams and looks absolutely stunning! Way better than all the previous corvettes by far in my opinion.

These MUST be available with a MT, and with that, you could predict the gears better!

Is this something you would ever aspire to own? I’m such a die hard manual guy and for me the Corvette died with the DCT only option, but man I cannot help but want one. I would need a NA Miata to cleanse my soul every so often. 😅

Having ridden as a passenger in one of these I can tell you this car is up there with the exotics. Take away the badge and is comparable to a lamborghini or mclaren, entry level that is.

Of course this car is a super car. I have 1 and have driven plenty of lambroghini hurricans the vet handles as good if not better in some situations. Car is a work of art.

Here in Australia, people are selling C8s (non Z06) Stingrays for the same price of a low mile/km McLaren 570S. It's ridiculous.

Regarding the turn signal stock, most chevy's, just give it a little 'bump' and it will automatically blink the turn signal 3 times.

Nice review of the z06, sounds good but still No match with a true Italian exotic, No one can duplicate the sound.

Debating on whether the C8 Z06 is a super car is like debating if the Dodge Charger is a muscle car..

The price, the quality of the materials, the little things like the way that frunk opened all say this is not a supercar. If those things were taken to the next level then yes it would be one. However it is a sportscar and there is nothing wrong with that.
