Hello, I am sorry Meredith. I live in the USA. I have something stolen in the mail. I have had a package opened up and I picked it up from the shipper. It doesn’t matter thieves are always watching! Delivery driver did it. I had the EXACT SAME SCENARIO happen to me with FedEx. I got a lawyer and it turned out to be my delivery driver who opened the box and resealed it. Delivery driver was fired from FedEx

watched this weeks ago and finished watching your update. this is so shocking. what people dont realise is just that its not the thievery but the violation and its longterm impact on your headspace. weve been burglarised before and to this day i lock every door and windows and i check over and over again before leaving my house even with alarms and remote security monitoring. i have lost packages from sephora and mecca before and I have actually stopped buying from them because they might replace the items but the time and hassle having to call over and over again.

My heart goes out to you. When I moved 5 yrs ago, the mover stole 4 pairs of designer shoes. I never got a single penny back. The same mover also broke a very expensive antique mirror.

Oh Meredith, I am so sorry that happened! I can understand the feeling - anger and then the violation sets in. I am SO glad to hear you are going to pursue this to the end. Because it is only when people do this, that companies will tighten their in house security to ensure it stops happening. Most companies have cameras and other ways to check what goes on, so they must be able to follow the trail of who had access to your packages. I hope you get some answers soon!

One thing I do is use marked tape. I will put a signature on it too. You can sign or “mark” the tape so that it can’t be resealed.

I just watched your update on your stolen bags. Years ago I had an air tight case against my employer for age discrimination and a hostile work environment. They had admitted fault and followed up with apologies and seminars for managers about recognizing, preventing and dealing with adverse work environments. Then, after about six months it happened again. I quit (got a better job very quickly). The US government said I had a clear cut case against them and so did my lawyer. The process could have taken a couple of years. I would likely have gotten a six figure settlement. I was obsessing about the process and getting more excited but anxious every day knowing I would be confronting them. This went on for several months. Finally, I had to make the decision to let go. As much as I deserved winning the case, I was feeding into constant negativity and it was affecting everything I did. To live with that for a couple of years was going to be destructive to my mental health. After I dropped the case the sense of relief was immediate. You were right in how you pursued every angle, right to be frustrated with DHL and the police and right to feel angry and vulnerable. But I also feel that as hard as it was, you were right to let it go. To better days ahead…

I’m so sorry this happened to you! I have had problems shipping items to sell too! They weren’t stollen but the box arrived looking like it fell out of the trunk and then got run over multiple times and the big bags were misshaped. I’m so glad that you are fully pursuing this! Thank you!! For so many people this kind of financial loss would be huge since most of us sell bags to fund the next bag purchase. And we wouldn’t have the means to fight this and investigate it more. So thank you!!

I’ve been asked what is being shipped and I just provide a category rather than specifics. In the US, stealing “mail” or packages can result in jail time. I hope that everything will turn out.

Meredith I've been watching your videos since the beginning. I'm not one to comment often but this time I must express than I'm really sorry you are going thru this! That thief will pay for this. I felt you when you said “I don’t lose things”. I’m the same, it would have driven me crazy as soon as I knew something was missing. I’m so sorry for the violation. SAKS FIFTH AVENUE here in the states is using a red “Tamper Proof Tape”… plus signature. Much more difficult to reseal if opened. High end retailers here seem to be using FedExpress with a signature to receive. I always take photos of the box as I am packing it and after it is sealed when sending a high value item. Just sharing some thoughts. So horrible… I feel exactly the same as you do. Virtual hugs to you.

I'm always weary when the lady at the post office asks me what is in the package I'm sending. From now on I'm just going to say it's a pillow. 😮People are just so ruthless…I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I’m so glad that you posted this about this shipping vendor; there needs to be consequences as there are cameras from drop off to delivery.

I was absolutely livid when I thought someone stole my package out of my mailbox that was worth $16.99 and it had a dress in it. Turns out my mailman delivered it to the wrong address as I received it a few days later. It wasn't even about the material good. I still felt violated and betrayed thinking someone in my neighborhood took something that was not theirs out of my own mailbox. It's a violating feeling and I lost trust of people and was incredibly hurt that someone could take something from someone else and feel as though they have a right to it. I cannot imagine the disgust you are feeling and I hope you press charges on that man so he learns his lesson.

Awww I feel like giving you a big hug. I know how passionate we all are about nice things but I've also had a similar experience with a delivery person taking extra interest in my packages. My packages weren't expensive but my gut told me never to trust him again. Also another person at a post office had a similar personality and I found out she stole things from my letters so I can't trust the same people ever again. I just pray and live in hope. There definitely needs to be strict regulations because packages shouldn't be so easy to just steal. Maybe they should have some sort of face ID for whoever handles the package or something. Good on you for looking for justice. I'll pray that you get your justice. 🙏❤❤❤

Suggestion if you want the thief caught and don't mind spending more money, but not as much as a lawsuit: Hire a PI to create a sting. I've come up with a few variations of how it could be done, but a good PI will come up with better ideas. If you do this, and you succeed in getting the proof against the same person who picked up your previous package, you could theoretically get it into the news and get satisfaction that way, in addition to hopefully getting the police involved.

This shouldn’t have happened, people are horrible. I’m so sorry this has happened to you Meredith. Connor will need to protect his sellers and start inspecting packages before leaving DHL (or any other shipping company). The argument businesses will always use is that they could have been stolen after it left DHL. Obviously we know this is not the situation, but companies will never assume the burden of proof. If he took video while opening the boxes then that can be used as proof that the items were stolen while in transit by a DHL employee. I hope you get justice! This is just so unacceptable. Try using Tamper theft security tape in the future, if you are not using it already. You can tell if a box has been tampered with. I hope you catch the thief

Meredith, I was a courier for FedEx in the states for 20 Years ( I have since retired )....Never did I ask anyone to show me something they were shipping....! NO, reason to...! I am so sorry this has happened to you..! Keep diligently seeking answers ...packages are tracked by scanners so they know everyone who touched that package/the vehicle it is in and the facility it reaches.... that person should lose their job and be prosecuted if the evidence shows they stole your contents...I always felt it a privilege to work for FedEx knowing that they trusted me and that I could be trusted to pickup and deliver packages everyday for them..without question...! We are (unfortunately) in a new day and age that TRUST is not what it should be...Praying that this has a good outcome for you..!

I was shipping somethings to Fashionphile the other day and the UPS store worker wanted me to open my package to show what was in the box. I felt uneasy and shipped with someone else and insured my package because i had the fear someone my steal the LV bag. I didnt feel at peace until it was delivered. So sorry this happened to you. Oh this is devastating to have happen and I can fully empathize. Yes, violated is how I felt too when I discovered that thousands of dollars of checks were stolen from within the USPS system and cashed. It was such a mess to try to get it all sorted and it seems often that these thefts are internal. I learned that the post office branch near me had had other cases of employees stealing checks from the mail and forging them at various banks. I hope you get this resolved quickly!!! xx

I had a very similar experience. The delivery guy signed my neighbour's name on the delivery slip and took my items home with him. They sent another driver to my house to investigate and he knew exactly who had my package. He went to the guy's house and got my package, then brought it to me. I have never seen that original guy ever again. It was obvious this was a regular occurrence with him. Hopefully, he was suitably 'rewarded' by the company. I really feel for you.

I just watched the update. You seem overwhelmed and exhausted by the whole process rightfully so. Another option is to take it to the local media investigative department. It brings attention to the matter and puts pressure on the company. Additionally, there may be so many claims for which they have not paid that it rises to a level of a class action lawsuit where in discovery other things are uncovered. It’s a lot to go through but for principle and if one has the strength to see it through you change their practices that way. Again, I’m so sorry for your experience.

I really hope you are able to come to a resolution and find out the perpetrator so you can gain some closure to this horrible situation. Please be careful with your home security as well. If your hunch is right, he/she knows where you live and likely that you have other designer bags/items in the home given that they are aware you’ve shipped them before on other occasions.

I had my wallet and checkbook stolen out of my purse at work. Unfortunately, I had $2400 in cash stuffed in the back of my checkbook. Sold a car and hadn’t made it to the bank. The bad part is that it was someone I worked with. I was screwed up for 2 to 3 months. It is an awful feeling.

Boy this made me tear up 😢 Wow how devastating, the violation is so much worse than anything, I am glad you are pursuing this because I am pretty sure the thief does this on a regular basis, stealing, and you nabbing this person may help others for the future. My son had $500 in car parts delivered to my house, said it was delivered, no picture of that delivery and I was adamant about figuring it out, this impacted my sons car repair business which amounts to more money than just the car parts, customers waiting for the jobs to be done and amounts to more money including labor, come to find out the driver had them, I had to track down to the actual boss of the driver to get results, luckily it didn’t get to another level of me contacting the police, and unfortunately it happened again with a different driver and after I cause a fuss those parts magically got delivered! So needless to say my son doesn’t use my address for deliveries. The car part sellers didn’t have the option for signature required 🤦‍♀️ I know this doesn’t compare to what’s happened to you but letting you know it’s a thing and I feel deeply for you 🤗 I pray 🙏 for a quick resolve for you 💗

Even though it's just material goods I do agree yes the sense of violation is horrible. It's even worse if you've ever had a break-in.

Meredith, I sincerely hope these people or person(s) is caught!!! And no one should be leaving nasty comments stating you deserve this….Thats almost worse than being the victim of theft! While I do hope you get your items back, I agree it’s probably unlikely…but charging the thief and seeing justice would be a huge step in healing. May I ask if all the items were in one box? Maybe filming yourself packing the items in the box would also be an option in the future. These are definitely uncommon times we are living in!

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I just watched your update and saw you weren’t able to get justice. It’s very frustrating. My sister had all of her belongings stolen. She was moving states away after graduation and valeted her car with a trailer attached that had all of her belongings. Clothes, jewelry, purses etc. While she was sleeping the valet gave her keys to a woman who drove off with everything she owned. It was clearly an inside job but I remember how violated she felt; knowing people were going through her things and taking what doesn’t belong to them. What people don’t understand is even if you’re wealthy and can buy it all back, it’s not about the money. It’s a violation and I’m sorry this happened. Don’t listen to the haters!!!!!

Oh Meredith I’m so sorry😢this is what happened to me 2 weeks ago…I bought a pair of Fendi earrings online…when I received the parcel it had been opened & my earrings stolen..now the postman did not ring the doorbell I got the Notification on my phone that my parcel had arrived…I went outside I could see instantly that my parcel had been tampered with.. I have surveillance cameras had a look just to make sure that no one had been on my property…it’s been 2 weeks & numerous amount of phone calls with Australia Post & still no compensation..they almost made me feel as though I was the one that had done something wrong..I’m absolutely disgusted how people think they can help themselves to other peoples belongings..I hope they get to the bottom of it & do something about it ❤

I (thankfully) haven't had any luxury items stolen, but I've had lower-value things stolen in transit and packages taken right off my front porch. Oh Meredith, I'm so sorry. I've had many things stolen from me in my life that I worked hard for so I know what that feeling of violation is like. It's awful. You already know this (you mentioned it in the video) but the package weights are something that can be checked to show that there was a difference between time of pickup and delivery. Also, though you said you won't be shipping designer goods anymore, using tamper-proof tape could help. I'm going to start doing that now because of what happened to you. I hope there is resolution for you quickly.

Gosh I'm so sorry you're going through this! It's absolutely feels like you've been violated when this happens. I'm sure if they've stolen from you, they've stolen from others. I know using social media can be helpful to see if there are other victims out there in your area. That could also help narrow down potential issues. I would raise hell until the culprit(s) is found! This could easily be a group effort too. Makes me so sad for you! For me out of paranoia, I've started taping my boxes with special tape and I put notes in there that if the special tape has been broken then they should notify asap. If I'm selling to someone direct I ask that they take a video of the unboxing. The tape I have was a special edition kpop tape that I happen to have 2 rolls of and there's absolutely no way that anyone else would have it! I know that's not helpful now but for anyone selling anything something like this gives me a little peace of mind knowing that stealing designer goods is becoming more and more and more common everywhere.
