This man has a gift, singer, song writers are a rare thing, you'd be shocked at how many top mega stars have ghost writers , use auto tune and all available technology to get that perfect sound, this man doesn't need any of that, also its difficult pin his style and sound to any genre, good luck.

I like the wording. A shadow might be scary but it's not more powerful than you. I think it inspires the idea that we can take our power back from the ephemeral notions and fears that we have let have power over us.

I use your music as tool when providing therapy for folks that suffer from anxiety and PTSD. They can relate. Shadow opens dialogue on how to cope with anxiety and quickly come to the realization that "it is just their shadow on the floor". Love this song!

After thinking about the “just” wording for a few days, I have mixed feelings. Livingston might be telling listeners to overcome their "shadow" by not giving it too much power.

@sunflower9611 lol, it's a metaphor, people fight demons with in themselves. Livingstone saying just gives you power of the shadow, put it into context, remember being a kid and bring scared of your shadow. Yep it's just your shadow (insecurities)
