It's always interesting when foreigners sing in Russian. This choir did it beautifully. Chesnokov is a genius!

Yes, it's really interesting, but I'm not sure they're "foreigners" - their pronunciation is too good. Judging by the names and surnames in the description, the quartet has at least 2, or maybe even 3 Russian-speaking singers.

This piece was the first time (over 20 years ago) I really heard such a voice. It was inspiring to me because I played concert bass and the solo repertoire focuses on the high range which I always felt sounded strained . You might almost forget you had a low string. This showed me as a teenager that being treble centric is a choice. It was a happy revelation

Bravo, belle performance ! Attention peut-être de garder les pommettes hautes pour ne pas écraser les A, ça ne changera pas ni le volume ni la difficulté mais améliorera la couleur. Continuez, vous avez une superbe voix dans les graves.

In most performances I really dislike the part immediately after the first deep basso part ends, because they always sing really loudly, usually so loudly it hurts my ears. It might be exactly what the composer wanted it to be like, but I still don't like it. In this performance, however, that part is sung at a very comfortable volume, which is excellent.
