LIZ STRINGER | FIRST TIME REALLY FEELING - Live on Cook Up
When we headed into the Milk Records store to shoot our Brunswick Music Festival session, we were lucky enough to catch a song from Australian indie-rock royalty Liz Stringer.
Giving us a sneak taste of her forthcoming sixth album ‘First Time Really Feeling’ (dropping in April through Milk!), here she performing a stunning, stripped-back cut of the title track.
Cook Up acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Wurundjeri people, on which this live session was filmed. We pay our respects to all Elders; past, present, and emerging.

Saw Liz at the film house in Montrose on Tuesday night. So moving. Such a wonderful link to the elders of our land on the other side of the world. Thanks Liz for making me feel that what I am doing in still valid and makes some difference.

Sooooo good. The album is on high rotation at home and work. Was booked in to see the album tour in Sydney but it was cancelled and I'm devo'd.

Just to say, heard these songs via ABC RNs "Music Show" and have wanted to play them over and over again, and I mean actually PLAY them. (You're using a capo on 1st Fret, aren't you? I had to try using barre chords darn it!) But the thing that really gets me is the depth of feeling and I am thankful for both the sadness and the joy. More power to your arm, dare I say rock on! Aww, I'm gonna start tearing up now. but not all tears are evil, you know? why is it sad songs are the best ones? Anyway, you're an inspiration, not that my opinion means much but I strongly recommend giving these songs more than just a single listen... wish you best regards michael K. (still out here hanging on ok)
