good job Liza... this video especially helps people like us who have a curiosity about products after seeing them on the supermarket shelf!!! Now we know how to use them and their benefits, we can buy them and not feel so confused about them!

It's so cool to see what other people use in their countries. I'm in the U.S. and idk what I would do without my washer and dry. The drums are about 5 to 6 times bigger. Great video!

We have a tumble dryer but jist brought a heated airer as tumble dryers can add an extra £1/2 a day on to your electric bill!! They are so expensive to run and gas and electricity bills here are extortionate!x

Hi Liza! I love your cleaning videos they give me motivation to get up and get the house sorted. I've discovered that washing your garments according to fabric weight make your clothes last much longer. I put all towels in one load together as they tend to damage other fabrics. like you I use the blue comfort but I use the PERSIL non-bio liquid detergent and my clothes come out smelling so fresh! another couple of tips I have discovered is using a cup of salt when washing coloured or dark loads, the salt will lock in the colour and stop them from bleeding and it will also revive dull faded colours. I also use a scoop of Oxy powder when washing whites which gets them so bright.

Hey Liza, love the video, I have a tip for you is that using like 20°C as your wash temperature is really good for saving energy because detergents are high efficiency and work at low temperature, and also stops coloured or dark clothes fading :) also dw about long cycles because appliances use ‘Fuzzy Logic’ that weighs the laundry and reduces the time and water :)

Bold can be used on Whites and Coloureds, since bold does contain optical brighteners making whites brighter. For better care on coloureds, maybe Ariel Colour, plus a low temperature it saves fading :)

@marianak6165
@marianak6165 2 жыл бұрын
I usually wash darks and lights on 40 and whites on 60. Occasionally I would put white towels and bedding on 90 to brighten them. Cold wash only for wool or cashmere with no spin. You can defo wash darks on 20 or 30 but I prefer 40 as it cleans my hubby's socks and underwear much better.

@wendyshouse3300
@wendyshouse3300 6 жыл бұрын
melissa cross a vented drier is a hose that has have a outlet ,eg..outside wall ,if you don’t have that then you need a condenser drier that has water container that you have to empty when it full like Lisa’s.😀👍
@bennie7755
@bennie7755 Жыл бұрын
It’s possible it’s a condenser or heat pump. Heat-Pump dryers are very economical, recirculating the same warm air and condensing the humidity, but still retaining the hot air and only heating it when the temperature falls. Condensers are similar but vent the air into the house as it doesn’t cause damp because the residual water is collected. Also an eco option. Vented use hoses that allow the damp air to escape the building, but use a lot of energy to constantly heat the air.

you really dont want to use these fragrance products and fabric softners that give clothes the scent. it actually traps in grime and dirt, so in reality, it may smell nice, but its dirty still. it actually also damages clothing. you read the lable and follow, but generally you want to avoud these type of products. essential oils would be better if you really want the scent.

Laundry is so so different in the UK compared with here in the US. We have natural gas so our dryers will dry a really big load in less than an hour! Even electric ones dry equally well. Both are economical here. We also have a separate room for laundry and often they are large enough to have a folding table and ironing board in them. It’s fun to see how you have to do this tho!
@bennie7755
@bennie7755 Жыл бұрын
We don’t tend to use gas dryers because they get very hot and are more likely to cause lint related fires and also shrink our clothes, and in the UK we hang our clothes out which I didn’t know isn’t a thing in the US 😂

(Probably the same brand just different name) and I think Bold 2 in 1 is available here too under the same name lol. I don’t think the fabric softener is available here I think if it is it’s under the name suavitel or gain? Not sure. Sorry I’m just really interested in what other countries have. @bennie7755

Calgon isn’t necessarily essential, it’s good for hard water areas or those who use powdered detergents that solidify when not dissolving in low temperature washes. Liquid, Gel, and POD’s age good at low temperatures and don’t leave as much build up :)

I would 10/10 recommend Bold, it’s basically Ariel detergent with a scent within it, it does also contain whiteness boosters and stain lifters that work at 20°C too, although it does contain softener I’d recommend pairing it with one by lenor as they usually do the matching Unstoppables and fabric conditioner:)

Ok, first of all, iwant to say congratulation tu your mom for make you sooo beautiful, o my god, incredibly..im Italian guy 30yo, but the way, if I can give you a tip, you must use powder detergent,your machine will clean really much better and it gona last much longer,because liquid one leave residue inside your machine build up and really destroy the hidden part like bearings and other stuff. Congrats for the video and to your luky hundsband :-)

I’m really funny when it comes to washing our clothes. I’m terrible. If it doesn’t smell good enough at times I will re-wash 😂 think I get it off my mum. I’m always trying different powder/liquid with different comfort and lenor to get them smelling the best 😂 xx

Well, it depends on what heat you use, since heat pump dryers heat to the same temperatures as vented or condenser ones, but if you stick to a gentle heat that should reduce shrinking :)

That is probably too much and not good for your clothes and washing machine. It's better to use 1 or 2 max.
@bennie7755
@bennie7755 Жыл бұрын
so 2 for large and dirty loads, but just one for max 4 Kg and regular daily wear. Excessive detergent can overproduce suds and cause wear to the appliance and cause skin irritation as well as fade clothes and leave them feeling unclean :)

Liza your Lenor Unstoppables Scent booster is sold in the United States and Canada as Downy. While Dax and Ariel are sold as Tide in US and Canada. By the way parts of the United Kingdom like Mildenhall Alconbury and Lakenheath have US Military Commissary that sells Tide.

Tide all be it by the same company P&G, are slightly different brands. Tide actually is slightly harsher, as UK appliances are much gentler on fabrics, as well as the detergents we use too 😂

@@bennie7755 Thank you for telling me about this and I am used to seeing American military members in Europe actually using American laundry detergent on a European washing machine. Since they live inside an American military base in Europe. One thing that is actually missing on a European watching machine that is found on an American example is the bleach dispenser.
