It’s crazy, Jim has been doing PPF for a hot minute and he is better than so many installers that have been doing it for years.

With the greatest respect to all good detailers, whilst there is skill, esp with polishing, the real pro's know about attention to deal, and an eternal quest for perfection. Like losing PPF gaps between panels and headlights, its just lazy not to. I saw a car with the roof PPFd, wasn't pushed down into the screen just finished about 5mm on the top. Owner did one trackday and the speed/wind lifted the leading edge, dirt got in and he was mightily pissed. It wasn't a good vs bad job, it is right vs wrong. Also depends who's templates they are cutting PPF from, some give themselves a lot more tolerance on the sizing. My guy even PPFd the back of the carbon seats because he happened to ride in one on a trackday and noticed the seatbelts knocked the seat backs when using harnesses.

Also never accept a new car with PPF for 2 reasons they way over charge you and whoever they have PPF installed it’s usually never as good. Dealers don’t want to pay the installer what it costs so most installers don’t go above like a customer car because they’re not making enough money

Jim, whatever you charged this car's owner, it wasn't enough! Depending on specification and ignoring the milage you just made A, Lizard Green 991.2 GT3RS into what would be, if it became available for sale, the very best Lizard Green 991.2 GT3RS in the UK. I would imagine this is the only one without the factory fitted, prep work, sander marks, and buffer trails. Your work just paid for itself and more, fantastic work. I am one of those nerds who prefers the longer vlogs as I enjoy your (pun perhaps intended) detailed presentations. On a personal note as someone who feels that introducing PPF is inevitable for my business, it is very encouraging to see someone with a comparable business model (going solo) to take on this added service. It gives me something to think about.

I know it's called "detailing" but the lengths you go to is incredible. I have way more chemicals tools and equiptment than the average person for detailing my vehicles but can't touch what you do. Its amazing

FAO Jim. I seem to often comment regarding your back.. when you're undoing wheel nuts/bolts, gravity is your friend, loosen left hand down! Also rig up a table so you can clean the wheels standing 👍 epic content btw

I’ve watched a lot of detailing videos, and while there are a lot of amazing detailers out there, I’ve never seen a single one climb under the car and start cleaning the undercarriage. Absolutely insane attention to detail.

Jim, I love the idea of spraying coating on wheels. The one time I sprayed Gyeon Can Coat into a towel to apply, it ended up getting on all the cars in the garage causing a huge mess. When you are atomizing the wheel coating, does it not end up getting all over everything in the garage?

BC06 is great for intricate wheels and spaces. Flashes off so no buffing and zero overspray. You could actually use it as a base coat for the paint if you were feeling brave. I'll ping you a DM. @@startingtech3900 Worth every penny if not more. If you can afford a $100,000+ supercar than 10k to keep it looking mint is not bad at all. Especially when he actually made it look better than the first day they got it. Either way, pretty incredible work. 👍🏻

I paid £5000 for a full detail and PPF on an old classic. I came to find out that the "detailer" in Bedford with the name 'Pro' didn't even polish the paint but charged me for it. I ended up breaking out my detailing gear and finishing it off. Wish i gave you the car.

Would be interesting to know if the signs of previous polishing were left by Porsche or by the installers of the previous PPF. Judging by the poor standard of the PPF I’d be tempted to say it was the installers but I suppose it’s impossible to tell.
