Born in Houston and raised in Detroit, Lizzo adopted her moniker in 2011 and fronted Lizzo & the Larva Ink after moving to Minneapolis. Her work began to intertwine with the city's indie scene, allowing her to work with artists like Gayngs and Doomtree.
Since then, Lizzo has collaborated with a variety of creatives--Clean Bandit, Bastille, and Big Freedia, to name a few--and was named one of Forbes Magazine's 2018 "30 Under 30". Her top singles "Good As Hell" and "Truth Hurts" have gained over 34.5 million Spotify streams combined. In addition to headlining her own Good As Hell tour in 2017, Lizzo joined Haim on the Sister Sister Sister tour in 2018.

Been suffering from internal depression for 51 yrs of my life. All of a sudden this vibrant , beautiful, talented woman comes on the tube . Made me feel good throughout the video. So I started watching all of her videos, I can’t get enough. It’s self empowering for me! Depression literally hurts mentally, emotionally and physically. I wish I can shake off.

It's not actually contradictory. She may have had a crown for half the scenes, but she says that she doesn't need one to know that she is a queen. Whether or not she had one is not contradictory in any way, shape, or form to what she said. In fact, it makes it rather clear that the crown is necessary for the audience to understand that she *is* a queen with or without the crown, since you only see her for the scenes in which she has it and not the ones in which she does not (in the church).

This song got me through one of the toughest times!! I felt like a million bucks inside and out!! The whole album was on repeat for weeks. 🤣 I watched an interview where Lizzie confessed her Christian background and how she was going to loose weight as a teen but a prophet came to her and instructed her not to said she would make MONEY off it and encourage thicker women around the world to love themselves and IM A PRODUCT of that prophecy thick girls went from timid to WE HERE B😜😘 THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER!! She has such a beautiful voice. I love that she is a person of power and she gives out a good message unlike alot of songs now days. Her music definitely has help many people including me feel like the queen of my kingdom. Every girl from stick skinny to cute and cuddly has some kind of insecuritie because of all the fake edited photos that come out in magazines and media. But let's be real, every girl has something they don't like about themself. Lizzo is just reminding us all that we are perfect in our own skin. Hot Fact: there are more women in the world than there are men so girl be picky and be a boss ass b*tch doing it because you run your own kingdom and you choose which "throne" you wanna sit on.

I spent all my formative years thin. When I developed severe PCOS in my early twenties, it caused me to gain a lot of weight and plunged me into a horrible depression because I was constantly told by the world that my worth was inverse to the number on my scale. Lizzo has had such a huge hand in making me realize that weight has no bearing on my worth and beauty and that I deserve to be loved and comfortable in my own skin. I love her SO much and can’t thank her enough ❤️❤️❤️!!

Omg our stories are almost the same. I gained 100 lbs overnight basically. PCOS. The weight never left. I tried fad diets. Exercise. Bulimia. EVERYTHING. I wish lizzo had been around then because I needed her as kid for real

Ladies you are not alone with your PCOS struggles. There are natural supplements you can take. Berberine is good (if I remember correctly). I take myo-inositol (2000 mg per day) and d-chiro insotiol (50 mg per day).... I like the Zazzee brand, you can order on Amazon. I have regular cycles without birth control. In addition, Ive lost weight with the help of diet change, and unfortunately depression on the side. If you prefer the Rx route, metformin is good...be mind taking this lowers the Vitamin B levels so take Vitamin B supplements

I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight- first being underweight as a teenager then gaining 60+ lbs when I was pregnant with my son. 6 years later I am still struggling to lose the weight.
