A best place to start to learn all about IU as a person is to watch Hyori's Bed And Breakfast season 1. WARNING. This is a 1 way road. After watching Hyori's Bed And Breakfast season 1, there is no backing off from stanning IU as you are sure to fall head over heels in love with IU as a person.

i totally agree with you. i already knew IU before cause i have watch all of her drama series but what made me fall in love with her is her personality after i watched hyori's bed and breakfast.i could not believe how a popular person like her could be that grounded and simple and just everything about her is beautiful and she doesn't fail to make me fall in love with her over and over again🥰

My mom became curious of IU because she knows how big of a fan i am. I recommended her to watch Hyori's B&B because she's a Netflix mania and before i knew it she's following her on sns and sometimes catch a glimpse of her phone watching some IU clips. She now regrets in stanning her too late because i went to IU's concert and she wished she was able to join 😂😂

You’re pretty much on the money with your interpretation of 23. It was her statement of the confusing life of being a young artist, and the most loved one in Korea at the time, to boot. She had barely any anti-fans at this point. But that also meant she also had a lot of expectations to meet, rather than finding her true self as she was. Ironically, it would be this album that got her the most criticism and haters, as people pointed things in her lyrics of her song Zeze. It was the first time she got any amount of significant hate from a group of antis. But Pallette sings about her growth into herself, and becoming comfortable with discovering who she is. Not only that she comes to term with her image of the past as well (Good Day). Pallette was a shift in her career where she goes on the offensive and takes a stand with haters. She pressed charges with people who spread vicious baseless rumors about her, even going down to the police station to confront them herself. She attacks unethical yellow journalism with her song Bbibbi.

Wow, Lachie, you dove face-first into the IU lore with You&I/Above the Time. You could write a masters thesis on the symbolism in those songs. Those are very dense. You got a lighter, more accessible IU in the last two songs. I've seen other reactors tap out on You&I. IU was on Sketchbook recently, and that's a must-see if you want to see her sing live. A lot of women with her beauty would rest on acting and CFs, but she is a real musician. Being a musician is a lot of hard work, and it isn't pretty. That's the most impressive thing about her, to me. She is perfectly comfortable with not looking pretty, and that make her even more beautiful.

lol I agree :) those symbolism in You and I -> above the time can be interpretated to another level of meaning, for example "self-love" and actually connected to many more of her songs XD I agree too abt "real musician". I think many ppl still dont understand/appreciate this enough. She taking handle of her album producing, writing lyrics, communicate w/ other composer, doing choreo-vocal training etc. Plus she is the sole breadwinner of her agency, so yeah almost all money for the album actually from her hardwork too.

Hmmm I don’t think GD is saying he misses his youth. He’s basically cheering up IU and saying it’s okay to be herself and that even through the bad times that the mid-20s gives you, you’ll still get through it and shine. That she is loved by just being herself. I think what GD was saying in reference to himself is there whether you’re in your 20s, mid-20s, and even like him in his 30s. He’s still is learning more about himself and growing as a person and artist. That is something that will always happen when you get older. Sometimes your preferences, opinions, and beliefs can change in time. So just enjoy your present and be proud of yourself for knowing what you like right now and the confidence you have in yourself.👍

@@LKTVLKTV Yep and you’re right that “You&I” and “Above The Time” are connected. Can you believe that it took 8 years for this continuation?? Also, the actor Hyunwoo and IU are best friends for a long time since they were both young in the Korean showbiz. He actually came back from his military service a couple months before they filmed “Above The Time” which is why his hair was short in the MV. There are many different theories about the timeline/dimensions that two characters were in. Some say that the ending of “You&I” is the future IU and Hyunwoo reuniting and of course that MV introduces the beginning of their love story/journey. “Above The Time” is the timeline in between before future IU and Hyunwoo meet at the shop. In the MV, they always meet each other at a certain time. It might be in their dreams or because they are connected subconsciously. So they literally feel and see each other and be together, but then it disappears once again. Until that time comes again to connect to each other. Then in the end, you had it right in a way.. he found away to literally pull her out of her dimension and she isn’t there anymore. Supposedly... “BLUEMING” is supposed to be somewhat of continuation that they’re meeting each other in the same time.. same world. But other people think it’s not a continuation. However, if you asked me.. the little earthquake in the beginning (which is also in “Above The Time” the water was seen shaking and the little house before the two met in that flower room) and the BLUE rose (that she draws in the inside of Hyunwoo’s hand in “Above The Time”) is everywhere in the MV and she’s obviously communicating with someone. The ending of that MV.. ends with the IU finally meeting the person on the other side. But it doesn’t show the meeting.. just two balloons going up.

Above the time is the follow up of you&i, same actor also 😉 23 and palette (25) are part of the age serie, eight (28) also. Now for the drama I personally prefer hotel del luna, for a more mature iu. But dream high is nice too with suzy, jyp. Man iu is a universe, a mood, a treasure I really love her so much. She don't do much show now. But she was the variety queen when she was younger. Her personality is fantastic. Her laugh too. Welcome to the iuverse 😁🎉

So You and I begins with introducing you to IU and the portraits of her grandfather, who was an inventor. He had built an Android (Lee Hyunwoo) to keep her company in the event he passes away. Hyunwoo was supposed to activate in the future, but he passed before he could tell IU exactly when. After feeling lonely waiting, IU decides to build a time machine to go to a future where Hyunwoo would be awake. She succeeds and marks the time for them to meet on his wrist (Symbollically as a watch) However, she leaves right as Hyunwoo activates. The date on the time machine indicates she travels to 2019 Dec 31. In 2019 November (Can’t remember the exact date) IU released Across The Times 7 years after releasing You and I. The MV tells the tale of IU and Hyunwoo interacting “Across time” even though they’re in different dimensions and time flows differently, until they meet in person in the end of You and I.

Exactly she saw the future. And at future he is healthy. So she made time machine and go to the future. But when she go to the future, unfortunately he wake up. Above the time is related with You and I. It is reply. 23 is her thinking about herself at 23 and it is from her interview, some people say that she is fox or some people say that she is bear. Somebody say I hate her because she seems fox, somebody say I love her because she seems fox, I hate her because she seems bear, I love her because she seems bear. She realizes that she wants everyone love her, but it is impossible. Because people judge her by their own standards even if she doesn't know helself perfectly. She doesn't know herself yet. Pallet is about herself at 25. She know herself a little now.

You may know now because I checked this after a month. The time machine in You & I, set the date 191231 (yy/mm/dd), and when song 'Above the time' released on 191118. Yes, the date not really match but same year. 'above the time' is kind of answer for 'You & I', you can find this details in conversation between '김이나' who wrote the lyrics of 'You & I' and '이지은(IU)' who wrote the lyrics of 'Above the time'. 23 and Palette are sort of ages(numbers) series that talk about herself and it could represent the generation. Many Koreans are looking for her of 30, because age of 30 is a bit big mean to Korean people.
