A little behind the scenes info. LL’s verse was directed at Canibus because Canibus took shoots at LL with his verse, yes Canibus taking shots at the man who invited him to put a verse on his record. A LL went in. Canibus wearing the football uniform is a shot at LL in the movie “Any Given Sunday” when he got into a fight with Jamie Foxx during filming.

Shawny....don't know if you knew, but on this song, LL Cool J and Canibus was beefing w each other....so both of their verses were throwing shots at each other‼️

More like Canibus made his verse, LL acted like it was cool and then changed his verse. Kind of a hoe move by LL, although IDK how they could actually solve the situation. Canibus wasn't trying to take shots at LL. Canibus was looking like he was gonna be the GOAT, nobody was hardly even talking about LL. He was making shit like 'Doing It'. I don't remember anyone ever mentioning LL as GOAT at that time. Probably back in the 80's yeah but nobody talking about him in the 90's, 😊esp. late 90's. By then rap had moved well past party rap. LL was doing 'Hey Lover' and that 'Who Do You Love' song with Total. Where Canibus messed up is best summed up as: "he never heard a multi syllable rhyme he didn't like". Because of that, Canibus basically rapped more like what you would call "nerd rap" back then. Ironically though Canibus' style had a HUGE impact on battle rap. Almost every battle rapper raps like Canibus to a degree. So (albeit indirectly), Canibus actually had a greater impact on rap than LL Cool J did.

One of my favorite raps songs from the 90s for sure. DMX verse is my favorite. But the whole track is hard. I dont like Master P verse, I feel like they could've done without him.
