I'm one of those 3% that practices these transitions. This channel along with gracie breakdowns has really improved my bjj.

Lloyd Irvin is a jedi. I just started digging through the premium InisideBJJ podcasts back episodes and was pumped while listening to your episode. I immediately built 3 different spreadsheets to track Techniques repeated, transitions repeated, and mistakes made during training. Breaking it down like a doctor. I hear haters talking about Lloyd, mind your business. I just want to see results.

By far the most in depth bjj video out there including instructionals, this isn't even about moves, transitions, finishes or subs this is simply brilliance. Master Lloyd is to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu what Carl Sagan was to Cosmology and Astrology a man that can take the most complex ideas and setting them down on the table so everyone can understand without having to be an expert. My hat off to you sir. Thank you

I learned the arm up que years from Lloyd himself back in 2005 when he was my instructor I use it for arm triangles. All the transitional system is in simple terms is a system of drilling the small(micro) movements(transitions) in between each major position and/or submission. You need 1 arm in and 1 out for the triangle right? 1 arm in is the micro part folks. The micro part is the que or signal that you should shoot for x submission or cover x space if you are defending. Simple stuff really

THIS IS INCREDIBLE AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS GOLD IS FOR FREE! DAMN! The Clock Choke stuff is a bit over my head as I'm not even good at a basic CC. But, I am truly AMAZED at the back taking TRANSITIONAL SWITCHES! I have the notes and am READY to implement in my drilling sessions tomorrow. The key about the elbow directional, I could instantly see my drilling with my partner and how he's doing that. Now, I'm just doing the back grab; but, that is going to change so soon!

This a sneak peak of the invisible BJJ which come with many years of experience. This is also the evidence of BJJ evolving. Thanks, for the illustration. Maybe some day you will make a DVD with a few of the micro transitions and see where some of your students take them and make variations to develop even more transitions.

Awesome information!! Thanks for opening my eyes to how I should be training. Despite knowing the importance of transitions, I've been improving them by trial and error rather than focusing on them. This has worked okay defensively (mess up and get caught by upper belts), but trial and error isn't nearly as good for identifying missed opportunity for preparing attacks. Thanks again!

Lloyd showed me the clock choke transition probably two years ago when I was at his school, and it was like a light switch went off. I call that my 99% choke now, because 99% of the time I go for it, the guy taps. Drill it and you'll believe.

I just started BJJ this week because my daughter takes it as well as karate and I need to be taking this in order to be able to help her get better at home. Your videos have been and will be very helpful and I especially like what you had to say about how martial arts compare to one another. Keep making videos and keep doing your thing!

I like to leave that door open. I lock everything else up tight, and they only have one option. Turn away. Or maybe I close everything else off but the option to turn into me. Which of course leads to the far side armbar. The game is deep. When you think you know it, you don't. The material he is presenting is solid. It is up to you to figure out how to apply it.
