sorry to be bearer of bad news but Neil Kerley's 1973 Glenelg side had a score of 49 goals and 23 behinds which is the record

He went straight from afl to a local northern league that his family has ties to cant remember the team but it was high level footy, he had 50 touches and kicked a bag of goals in his first game 😂

Spot on. I understand moving a guy on when he's past the peak of his powers, but Boomer was a freak. He was still easily in North's best 22 when they moved him on. Carlton fan, by the way.

He retired too early at just 31, should have played 300 games and should have kicked a thousand goals. Also probably should have won a few more Coleman medals considering his huge talent. He stumbled at the finish line. A great player left with unsatisfying stats.

I feel Michael Tucks number of games played is the bigger achievement...... less games per season , less knowledge of sports science / health etc .... Tuck was also on the tools as a plumber weekdays. Not a Nth fan , I actually dislike them but Boomer was a great player & good to watch .
