On this hike I aim to complete the 110 miles of the Llyn Peninsula Costal Path, which is part of the Wales Coast Path. The whole adventure was completed in five days with a total ascent of circa 9,000 feet.

In this video it is the start of day three a few miles from Aberdaron, which we must get to as soon as possible for a further urgent supply of water. When we do arrive, we also enjoy obtaining more snacks to keep us fuelled and occupied on the trail. The day is pretty miserable with many showers of rain and high winds. The winds in particular seem to enjoy fighting against our onward toil as we round the point of the peninsular.
Once this is accomplished the winds seem to settle and we sight the sun especially as we pass over the top of the bay of Whistling Sands. Next we come across issues of the path being closed due to landslides, but as it is the end of the day we head in land and find our first official camp site which is situated at Morfa.
The morning of day four finds us trying to connect with the trail again but we are beaten by the diminished path caused by the lack of footfall due to there closure. We head inland for a couple of miles on the quiet roads before reconnecting to the trail.
The next big event of the day is visiting Porth Dinllaen where we find the third best beach bar in the world, names Ty Coch Inn. Hear we enjoy the sheltered bay and relax for a half hour, unfortunately the bar is closed but the beach is beautiful.
In complete contrast we are now heading into the mountains seeking the highest part of the coastal path. Old quarry buildings greet us and we recharge our electronic batteries in addition to our physical batteries on coffee and cake. leaving the quarry of Nant Gwrtheyrn behind we head further over the mountains to descend towards Trevor for our next wild camp.
Video Llyn Peninsular #3 follows and will be published on Tuesday 2nd July 2024 @16:00 GMT. This video will be the last in the series.
