In today's video we address why my 2024 F150 5.0 RCSB was so slow in the first video where we tested the performance on it!

I guess i should have clarified all tracked accelerations were done on factory wheels/tires. Thought that was clear due to the first video being posted before a single modification was done and no tire noise in the video. In the video the truck runs much better times the second time so no it was not on the 33s.

Good point, but the "turd" you referred to used to be called, "Factory Mule", though for another reason. My first job in 1979 (age 19) was at a machining plant. They had Company cars & asked me to take the medium blue 1978 Malibu with no A/C or amenities, a very light car. Just automatic transmission & radio. Very boring rental-grade 3,000 lb car. When I turned onto the 55 mph highway up the road, I gave it the gas hard, thinking this cheap slug wasn't going anywhere. Lord was I wrong. That engine let out a roar & the car raced hard past 60 mph faster than I could believe! After I stopped, I looked under the hood & saw a V8. The only optional engine in that model would've been a 305 V8 2bbl carb putting out 130 hp. This was not THAT engine. It was one of the fastest cars I'd been in up to now; mind blowing! I think the factory unknowingly slipped a high performance Corvette L82 350 in there? In comparison that '78 Corvette weighed 3,520 lbs. The L82 put out 220 hp. A heck of a ride for a 3,000 lb car!

@bruschmidt9943 Yes I'm in the states. Now it just depends on the area. Some states max speed is 65, some 70, some 55, a few are 75-80. And some of it is state controlled. Some are county or city controlled. Some states have a posted minimum speed too. Most don't post minimum speed...its just known 🤷🏻.

One reason is non e85 fuel and the motor hasn’t reached the break in period yet. When I installed 22 inch rims with off road tires my 2022 regular cab 5.0 felt a second slower doing 0-60. Wrong, once your piston rings are seated, you should have full compression. Usually after 300 miles, also, I would do an oil change between 800-1000 miles. Don’t follow the factory recommendations. They are designed to keep your truck save for the power train warranty period.

@@ze_german2921 you are correct about the mechanical break in, but some manufacturers have a “break in” tune that nerfs the ignition and fuel for the first x miles or engine hours. Factory freaks don't exist anymore. Manufacturering tolerances and ECU tuning are too close these days. Your issue is you're brake stalling too long. Sport mode, nannies off, hard as possible on brakes, mash the gas to the floor, and release the brakes Sitting on the TC creates a ton of heat amd lag. Also, ambient heat and humidity sucks a ton out of a naturally aspirated motors. Think an easy 0.5 seconds slower and 3-4mph in the 1/4 mile in 80+ degree temps. Density altitude is a real thing. Those heavy wheels and tires are killing the times too. Cool weather and lighter wheels/tires you're in the low 5s or better.

People keep saying its tbe engine not broken in...lol. The difference is in the 60ft time. The initial launches were 2.50 60ft. You shaved over .3 off the 60ft, that will easily knock .6 off the quarter mile. That 2.5 launch would be a bad launch even in 2wd, it was in 4wd. Whatever happened to create the better 60ft made all of the difference. Not more power. Now this performance is what I would have expected, and in garbage weather. Newton’s Second Law dictates that the force on an object is equal to its mass multiplied by its acceleration. So, increasing your wheel size will decrease the driving force from your wheels which will culminate in a decrease in acceleration of said wheels. Calculate the torque value of your wheel. The torque value is constant, which means if the wheel radius changes, the driving force acting from the wheel must also change.

If you want a race car then don't drive a truck. I have zero complaints with my 2023 f150 with the 2.7 in it. Quite the power house that shocked the heck out of me when I started driving and pulling it.

Even if it's in sport mode, turn off traction control and advancetrac (if you haven't). Advancetrac really hurts.

If you put on larger diameter wheels and have not recalibrated your speedometer, you will be going faster than speedometer indicates.
