thank you Dante! most likely the first person you will meet is the student at the orientation booth who checks you in and gives you your school id and lanyard, then depending on your schedule you might start moving in, and then when your orientation activities start you'll meet your orientation group leader, who is an upperclassman student that leads your activities and introduces you to the school. everyone is super nice and welcoming! you might have a virtual meeting with your advisor in the spring/summer around the time when you register for classes, but your advisor will change during the school year. during your orientation you'll also meet your ra and faculty from your major/college. as far as housing amenities go, that depends on the dorm! if you look up lmu housing there is a page where they show the dimensions of the rooms in each dorm and what furniture they come with. most dorms do not have air conditioning, except for the newest dorms, palm north and palm south. McKay does have a fan vent thingie and a ceiling fan, so it doesn't get too hot! i'd also recommend buying a fan or two (globe fans are great!) McKay is also the only freshman dorm with a shared bathroom, all of the other ones are communal. some dorms have sinks, but not all of them are functional. for furniture, the dorms come with a bed, a desk, a little desk drawer thingie, a bookshelf, a dresser, and a closet, some dorms might have more or less but i think it's pretty much the same. palm north and McKay also have lobbies that people hang out at which is fun! super long response haha but i hope this helps! :)

omg congratulations!! most freshman dorms are the traditional communal bathroom style, including whelan, doheny, rosecrans, palm north, and desmond. some of them have sinks in the dorms but a lot of them don't work HAHA. i think McKay is the only suite style dorms for freshmen. i hope this helps! lmk if you have any more questions :)

Hi! McKay rooms don't come with a fridge or microwave, but we rented out microwave/fridge set through the university! They use a company called Collegiate Concepts and they have it set up in your dorm before you move in, which is nice. Hope this helps! :)
