Built at Darlington in 1923, the locomotive was preserved by the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group (NELPG) in December 1967, the locomotive is based on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
In this video we see the locomotive is action on the NYMR during the 2018, 2019 and 2021 Steam Galas, including on an early morning steam freight train photo charter shortly after its return from overhaul in 2018. The locomotive is seen double heading with fellow NELPG steam loco, the NER Q6 63995 and is also seen on the 'covid secure' Railtrail shuttle service in September 2020.
We also see the locomotive on its travels at the North Tyneside Railway for their 30th Anniversary Gala Celebrations in 2021 and operating summer services along the Wensleydale Railway in 2019.
