FE2 is a new arrival for me and this is the just the level of detail I needed to feel confident about loading my first film without doing something really stupid! Many thanks. And, my, what a beautiful camera it is in the flesh.

cool, why do you shoot 100 film at 50? does it slightly underexpose it

Shooting film with a box speed of 100 at an exposure index of 50 results in one stop of overexposure. When Ilford Pan 100 is overexposed in this manner and developed in Perceptol, the result is lower contrast and higher exposure latitude. I find this useful when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight.

Does taking up the slack in the rewind knob ever scratch the film? I've always wondered about that, and also about winding the film *slowly* to prevent static discharge.

Taking up slack with the rewind knob does not scratch the film. Personally, I've never had issues with static discharge, but I have heard that concern expressed by others.
