8 жыл бұрынKent LaVoie (born July 31, 1943), better known by his stage name Lobo, is an American singer-songwriter who was successful in the early 1970s, scoring several U.S. Top 10 hits including "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo", "I'd Love You to Want Me", and "Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend". These three songs, along with “Where Were You When I Was Falling In Love”, gave Lobo four chart toppers on the Easy Listening/Hot Adult Contemporary chart.
"Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" is the 1971 debut single by Lobo. Written by Lobo under his real name Kent LaVoie, it appears on the Introducing Lobo album.
The single peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the first of four of his songs to hit #1 on the Easy Listening chart, where it had a two-week stay at that top spot in May 1971. The song also reached #4 in the UK Singles Chart in July 1971, and spent four weeks at #1 in New Zealand.
Internationally, "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" was Lobo's second most successful song among more than 15 single releases. It was surpassed only by "I'd Love You to Want Me" the following year.

My dog now is named Boo. Buster Boo. Me and my late wife got him in 2015 when he was 7. She passed nearly 4 years later and he has been stuck to me like glue ever since. I love him more than anything on Earth and are family. All I have left and in a way part of her too.

I was discharged from the U.S. Army Fort Hood Texas in June 1971 after my tour of duty. i heard this song on my way back home to Charleston S.C. so many times just happy to be alive. Thanks, lobo, for the great memories.

Hey Bill I wander if we are possibly related since we have the same sir name with the same spelling. Every since I was a kid everyone alalways spelled it wrong(Davidson). There is probably 40 of them to one of us I spell it as they write and they still spell it wrong. Did you experience the same problem? We have the same sir name and like the great music of the 60s and 70s. I always tell them different spelling than the motorcycle company. No relation to them. Wished I was money wise. Like a reply from you. Respectively.

You'll never hear songs like this again. One of my all-time favorite hits from the 70's. This song always reminded me of a dog I had many years ago. I loved that dog so much and was really torn apart when he died. Songs like this never grow old, they get better with age. Thank you Lobo for all the great hits.

When we were kids, we took a road trip every summer from Manitoba to Alberta to visit our grandparents, usually late July. I can still see the ribbon of highway and the farms in the distance, their crops rippling in the wind like gentle ocean waves. You always knew the next town was coming up when you saw one of those giant grain elevators in the distance. The family car was a ‘68 Dodge Polara wagon with a sheeted mattress in the back for us to sleep in. Mom served out snacks and home made lemonade from a Coleman cooler. No AC so always hot in the car, but we never cared....we were back on the road again. What an awesome time to be a kid!

This is some of the finest music ever written. I was a high school student and and in the navy later when this fine music by Lobo was released and it brings back a lot of great memories. Lobo is the Spanish word for wolf. One of the greatest vocalists in the music industry. I wish they made this type of great music today.

LEE, you will never find other singers as good as LOBO and today's music doesn't have melody like LOBO has . TODAY'S music is too wild and crazy for me and I have tried others like ABBA , THE BEATLES and BREAD wines too much . I can't stand THE BEATLES and I have tried listen to them for a couple of days and I got BEATLED out after that . TODAY LOBO is the best singer in the music world .

Another classic when us "baby boomers" were just kids! A terrific song; great times all those years ago. I sure had fun back then. Lots of family vacations, terrific friends at school, and awesome tunes like this one. Lobo soothes and eases our lives with his great music! Love it! * Cav *

It was the perfect music for the time ,I drove my country back then with my dogs hunting and fishing pretty much living off the land driving a 39 Ford deluxe awesome times

Awesome song by Lobo who is also Kent LaVoie, he grew up in Winter Haven and went to USF in Tampa in the '60s. My older sister remembers him and that he and his old gang played some gigs around campus back then. Great guy by her recollection.

This song is timeless because the message and vibration in it is our most precious thing, freedom. What changed between the 70s and now ? Only we did 😂...... nothing more...... Its all about living in the moment but society says not to do that, more more newer newest material ! Buy a bigger house and three cars.... Or the newest iPhone...that other job pays you more....ooh but its full time with more stress..... (All outside stuff..) We were happier because we had way less material but we were happy and thankful with what we got. ( Happiness is on the inside..) This song shows you the truth ☝️the way within, learn to thankful, appreciate small things, start living in the moment. We dont " need " anything , just me and you and a dog named Boo .
