Overview of the LOC Precision LaserLOC 1.63" minimum diameter rocket.

Celebrating 35 years of LOC - we bring back an old favorite! The LaserLOC series was one of the first production minimum diameter kits available to the public. Keeping the tradition going we have a few modern day tweaks that will put your skills to the test. A gentle laser etch around the slots allow for easier glassine removal. Multi-slot airframe allow the fins to click into the booster. Precut 4oz fiberglass cloth can be easily epoxied from fin-airframe-fin. This reinforcement will give your LaserLOC the strength for today’s higher impulse motors. Fiberglass should be applied with a long cure epoxy for best results. If you have never glassed anything before, here’s your chance! The booster is a zipperless design. 1/4″ Launch lugs included. Fly away rail guides are another alternative.
Strong enough for supersonic flights. Light enough on your wallet and to fly an E motor!!!

Make sure not to get any epoxy in the fin slot holes, you’ll have a nightmare trying to get a motor in it.

I didn’t post it yet. Been really busy. Also destroyed the rocket but on purpose by pushing it really hard.

Thank you. I can't figure out how to install the av bay. Any suggestions? Do you use shear pins to hold it to the payload section?

If it’s the 1.63” version then there’s no avbay. The coupler can be glued in the lower tube with the eyebolt up for the shock cord. If it’s the 2.26” version then it’s typical to attach the avbay/coupler to the payload tube with removable rivets and put shear pins for the nose cone.

The 3” diameter kit is available, but it’s not MD. I think the 2.2 is where it’s at. locprecision.com/product/laserloc-313/

You could make it minimum diameter but you’d be looking at some serious speed and altitude.
