I remember hearing Wide Eyes in like middle school and now I'm in college and I still love these guys. Every album seems to fit my mood at the time. I had my first kiss to You & I (even though it's about heartbreak haha...it didn't work out anyway) I'm just so happy this is out

He was there original singer and now he never sings, original band was called cavil at rest I went to school with them then he sang one full local natives song called only son that got cut from there first album, well actually two but the other was a demo called marching

man i remember last year summer 2016... i came home from a summer art class and i heard about this new song and i was so hyped, and i remember rushing to my room to listen to it, and when i did...god i actually teared up because it was SO. GOOD. love these guys. miss their concert.

This album is a vocal hug in every way possible. It's great for a long night drive. It seems to fit perfectly for every situation and is one of my favourite albums. I will always turn to it if everything else is a mess, because this will never not be perfect.

+JbRi08 dude this is amazing. Absolutely amazing. You can hear gorilla manor in this song but you can also hear the new direction they're taking. If this song is any indication of how the rest of sunlit youth is gonna be then sign me the fuck up. Evolution is what keeps music groups going. I'd rather have a drastic sound change than more of the same tbh

+ASassyVulture Like I said, it'll have to grow on me. I'm aware evolution has to happen in order for their music to move forward, but, there is a certain spark from every song they've released that has always grabbed me. Past Lives drew me in from the first chord, this, however, did not. I've pre-ordered my album and will be in the front row when they come to NC. They will always be my favourite band.

+ASassyVulture Past lives sharts all over this song, and it isnt that great either. This is awful. I love this band to the point of offering to fly them in to play my wedding. This song is not them. This is pseudo-80's Electronica crap. I have tried to listen 3 times, and turned it off 3 times. I'm 30, not 18, so I had to suffer through the 80s sound once already, I don't want to hear it again. This isn't band evolution, the devolution. You can't take people that play amazing acoustically, take their instruments away, add synth, and call it music. Watch them sing "Cecilia" live from their courtyard. Amazing. THEN tell me this is music. This is shit and we all know it. And if you don't know it, you are a part of the problem anyway, so save your comments for someone else. Damn Millenial hipsters.

LOLLLLL "because its got electronic music when the band was previously mainly acoustic it MUST be shit" chill the fuck out you are acting like the typical "FUCK THOSE PESKY MILLENIALS" fuckhead. just because youre not about the evolution of the music doesnt mean that other people arent, or that the band is getting shit. dirty heads changed their sound significantly and while its not my style, i dont go around shitting on it because i have neither the time nor the energy to get so hype about music that other people like. local natives is a great band and will continue to be great. you just sound like a purist elitist who has a bitter resentment for the youth for like no reason

I am so fucking pumped for this new album! I got to see them preform live a couple years ago when they were touring with Kings of Leon. I've loved these guys since they were still Cavil at Rest. Happy to see them grow. =]

I feel really sad for the younger generation. I am over 40, but this song is up there as one of the best songs I have ever heard. I feel really sad that this generation, because of their weird tastes, are collectively suppressing music like this. To put this into proper context, the first album I ever fell in love with was NWA's Straight Out Of Compton album. Most of the music I have truly loved have been R&B ("You know what's Up" by Donnel Jones, etc). And quite a number of rock songs: "No Excuses" by Alice In Chains. I also love a lot of Cold Play: Clocks, God Put A Smile On My Face, Don't Panic, Atlas, Green Eyes, Square One, etc. Then come to the new generation, I like some Chris Brown "Transform" "Forever" "She Ain't You" and a lot of songs where he is featured with others (clean versions - I hate hearing swear words in music these days). Also like Tame Impala, and Alt J's "Taro". But I must say AGAIN that THIS track is clearly the best song I have heard in a very looong time!!! And I wish today's kids will listen to music a little more attentively, instead of asking their friends what is popular! Because that is the only reason I can think of to explain why some of the music of today get up to 1 billion views on KZfaq and yet still sound like complete trash!!!

I understand this view, but think you are assuming that younger generations don't listen to a wide variety of music. If anything we have far more diverse tastes than your generation due to the tools available to us to browse and catalogue music. I could see how you could get that view from just looking at social media though (ironically)
