As a razorback fan I thought Saban retiring would be a happy day but I have to admit it’s kinda sad, mostly because I’m about the same age as him. Nobody can say he ain’t the GOAT and I hope him nothing but the best. About DeBoer all I can say is he got a lot of guts to try to feel those shoes

I just want a great hire. This guy fits the bill from everything I have heard. We need someone who can stabilize the program... Or maybe I should say keep it at an elite level like Saban did. We need someone who can keep winning and keep getting the elite players it requires to stay on top... this guy fits alot of those requirements...

Speaking of coaches from small schools, does anyone remember a guy called Pat Dye and how much success he had against us after coaching at small schools. Auburn would love to have that type coach again. It's the quality of the man that determines success.

Udub fan here. After just playing for the title, we all felt that we'd be a perennial top 10 team with Kalen at the helm, but now that is all gone in less than a week is gut punch for us. Although no one is going to duplicate what Saban did. DeBoer will keep the tide rolling for sure. Lots of noise for Lanning and Sark, but Deboer is 5-0 against them in the last two years with less talent. So imagine what he could do with your talent. This really sucks, but congrats for hiring the #1 option out there. Also Jimmy please don't compare us to Ole Miss. That's an insult. Look at the history before saying uninformed non-sense.

I like that DeBoer isn’t limiting himself to a single QB style. Saban never did. Saban went back and forth. He had pocket passers early on McElroy and McCarron. Then a dual threat Sims. Back to a pocket passer Coker. 2 dual threats Jalen and Tua. Then pocket passer Jones and then another dual threat Young. He went with Milroe but I don’t think it was bc of his style. If they had a better QB they would have started him regardless of the style.

DeBoer and his staff will do well with recruiting. More access to talent, more recruiting resources, etc. The States of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Florida have a lot more talent than the Northwest. DeBoer will keep the Alabama recruiting administrative staff intact for the most part. Alabama Football has approximately 100 people on staff in addition to the on- field coaching staff. A lot of the recruiting effort is managed by a dedicated professional team. The coaches are the closers.

Also, if I would request one thing, I would love to see Coach T Rob as the new DC. He knows the system, has worked closely with Coach Saban and Steele, has great relationships with his players, and is a great recruiter. Crucial to keep him here. I think that if we can secure T Rob, we have a chance of keeping Caleb Downs.

Tired might be one hell of an injection for Alabama, especially on offense. Nobody should expect anyone to beat Saber in his prime... But think Kalen Deboer can win national championships. Curious to see what Alabama does on it's defense and coaching staff.... And coaching stuff in general. The guy is definitely a player's coach... I don't see why he couldn't become a strong recruiter in Alabama.

He's a great Xs & Os guy. Probably won't recruit all that well, but he's got an even better ability. He knows how to build through the transfer portal, and with college football basically being a soulless professional sport now, that's a great skill to have.

Lanning was contacted. And had he been asked, he would have said no, if he in fact wasn't. He's made this clear over and over again, that he wasn't going anywhere.
