Locker Nuts episode 645
This episode picks up where the last one left off, digging in this surprising locker I bought at auction for under $400. I say "surprising" because it looked like a junk pile, but it wound up holding a ton of collectables and toys, and has been a lot of fun. Also surprising is that the prior owner may have gone to prison, and that's why he lost the locker. If so, he might come looking for me after what I find in this episode.
This is part 6 of the "Wall of Disaster" locker series.
We'll be selling the best items from this locker on Whatnot. The links are above to sign up and get a free $15 credit to spend, and here is the link directly to our next show. Join us for some live auction fun!

Your fancy polished stick is an Australian musical instrument called a Didgeridoo. Jack : I'm thinking this man was a dumpster diver. The stores often throw out one of shoes that they put on display. Kinda goes with the cut cords on the electronics too.

Interesting story. A pizza delivery kid locked his keys in his running car. We farted around trying to pop the lock buttons with a wire hanger with no luck. I noticed that his car was the same make as my deceased mother's car. I went to the junk drawer and found a spare key. I worked perfectly! He gained a key to keep in his wallet and we got our pizza for free.

that was a musical instrument from the Aboriginal Australians. The didjeridu, a simple wooden tube blown with the lips like a trumpet, which gains its sonic flexibility from controllable resonances of the player's vocal tract.

Not quite blown like a trumpet, sound is produced breathing in as well as out and it’s extremely hard to master. Adam Rupps from HomeFree managed to master the sound without using the instrument (beat boxer) which I found interesting. 🤣 if you ever listen to his solo which he did at a concert he remixes the sound with his voice.

The hollow polished stick @11:28 is a didgeridoo. It is a musical instrument from Australia. It is originally played by the Australian Aboriginals. It is worth way more then $20, Some artwork alone can be worth a few hundred dollars.

A little hello from Chiang Mai! After a month in the Philippines, I'm back home and for my first breakfast I'm happy to have a new episode of this incredible locker! Your pleasure in discovering all these old objects is a pleasure to see! There is still an episode of what appeared at the beginning as a real trash can and which turns out to be a real treasure! But hey, the hope of finding all the shoes to make pairs seems to be diminishing...

The painted, hollowed stick could be a native Australian music stick known as a Didgeridoo The most famous of all Australian instruments, the Didgeridoo, is a trumpet-like wind instrument that was developed 1,500 years ago by the Aboriginal peoples of northern Australia. The didgeridoo is conical or cylindrical in shape and measures anywhere between 3 to 10 feet long. The longer the instrument, the lower its pitch. It's a beautiful piece of artwork all by itself....but I would have it checked out for it's authenticity.

Someone may have already commented on this - I didn't scroll to look, but the big, orange thing you picked up at 36:00 unfortunately only showed the bottom half, because of the angle of the camera. So, I can't be sure, but it looks to me like the Kool-Aid Man. You know... Kool-aid, Kool-Aid, tastes great! Kool-Aid, Kool-Aid. Can't wait! Okay. Maybe that was a LITTLE before your time 🤣🤣 anyway, since you only showed the bottom half I can't imagine what it could be. I've never seen anything like it, but it sure looked like the Kool-Aid man to me. Hope that helps. At least it gives you a place to start, Maybe???

Didgeridoo from Australia… that one looks well made… the bottom end is flared for different sounds. New you pay around $150 for that size possibly more. Check out the artist if they have it listed. Usually tourists buy and learn how to play.. in aboriginal culture only men, boys are supposed to play. Might be some collect ability for music collectors or collectors of aboriginal work. Some didgeridoos are massed produced. That one looks like the left it on a termite mound to get them to hollow out the sounds.
