I have one of the “screw up” type fittings and find it needs to be tightened quite firmly or it will leak. The lever types are more convenient.

Great comment. I agree with you. I have a screw type. Also that has to be tightened and then when you loosen it, it leaks the lever type is much easier but it’s imperfect as well. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

I was going to wait 3 days for the Lock n Lube to show up, but I have the Lumax I could get locally at Napa today. Thanks to your video I realize it works as good or better and I can grease my mower today. Thank you!

The slide on “thingy” is an adaptor to get to the odd difficult to reach fittings - not meant to use to grease the whole machine.

@@JosephHunstad Hi Dr Joe - By adaptor what I mean is - screw a standard zerk into one end of the slide on "thingy" - this way you can attach it to your standard grease gun only when needed. The problem is finding all these adaptors which invariably end up in the bottom of your tool box. Find I have 9 grease guns for different applications and grease, plus various adaptors for hard to get to zerks!

No manufacturer seems to have solved or addressed the dribbling on removal problem - maybe a beer Pluto internals has the answer - they don’t dribble after pouring a beer!

I know I primed my grease gun because before I put in the lumax fitting it was putting out grease when I pumped the handle , so is it supposed to pump out grease after you put the lumax on without it being hooked to a zerk? Like just pump it in the air? I pump the handle and nothing . How do I know it going in the fitting??

You ask a good question. I believe there’s a check valve that requires you to clamp onto a ZERK to get the grease flowing. It’s also possible that although you have a primed, it may not be perfectly primed. There still could be an air pocket just a thought. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

I just watched your video about rebuilding a sears floor jack. I have a sears floor jack from that same era but mine is the 4 ton long reach jack. Wondering where you got your rebuild kit from? Mine needs a rebuild also. And can i buy the same paint and color somewhere? Would like to give mine a fresh paint job along with the rebuild. Thank you

Hey Jonathan, thanks for your shout out. The rebuild kits are readily available online, Amazon, etc. Type in the number of your jack and it should come up. As far as the paint color, a good quality enamel paint once your body of the jack is properly prepped will serve you very well. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.
