Last month, FACT and DJ Haus went to Utrecht to profile the city’s exciting underground house scene.
While there, we sat down with producer Locklead to get some insight into how he makes his tracks - bouncing between MPC and Ableton to get his hi-hats nasty and distorted and his kicks booming.

Hey Altruwest, it's Rocky! Did you notice how his MPC is propped up at an angle (like Maschine Studio 😉)? I wonder what he's using to prop it up like that...

Noob question here... How did he connect the mixer to his laptop? It's not USB supported, and his audio interface just has 2 inputs (for mics). So how did he connect it?
@jacksonueland
@jacksonueland 7 жыл бұрын
I don't know for sure if this is how he did it BUT he could be taking the stereo outs (L & R) and feeding it into the two inputs on that audio interface
@quentincoleman4222
@quentincoleman4222 6 жыл бұрын
he is going out from mixer to the inputs of the audio interface, the 2 inputs for the audio interface are not just for mics. any 1/4 inch jack will fit in them or xlr. So you can go out from your mixer to the AI, or guitar in to Ai, what ever you want as long as you use a 1/4 inch jack or xlr.

+Gleeson Maybe because it's all you need? same with fruity loops. You don't need much hi end equipment to make to make people dance. He could probably make everything on the mpc anyway regardless.
