Thanks for touching on university locks. It’s a very interesting theme because typical university is a huge structure and the lock policy is all over the place, usually. But the expensive labs and storage rooms with expensive equipment are usually ‘money no object’ and both the locks and the doors are very expensive and robust. So no surprises to see this Yale on your channel, it was probably used to lock up some lab or storage facilities with rare stuff.

We had to move some computers in our department and IT had lost the padlock keys locking them to the desks. I just said "no problem", got two spanners, and got them open using the LPL wrench method in about 5 seconds. IT: not particularly impressed. That was after I'd noted that they had looped the locking cable around the monitor rather than through any hole, and one can simply pull the cable a bit and pull the monitor through.

If you are wondering how to properly lock somthing. The one that took him the longest was a package wrapped in tape. The tape seemed to dramatically slow down the lock picking by tens of thousands of percent. If you want more security order dump trucks with sand or rocks to cover the lock with. Concrete is of course great too. Just a few meters of the stuff will turn the smash and grab into a lengthy project worth staying away from.
