Because the moment you get signed to Shady you get locked into album deals which comes with constraints on creativity and content. No to mention you have to live under the limelight of Eminem which hurts your reputation. Royce da 5'9, Crooked, and Joe Budden have all been better bar for bar than Eminem for the past decade, but they get overshadowed by the fact that their signed under shady. Why would a legend Locksmith sign to someone who is his rival he has already surpassed skill wise?
