The turntable in the Loewe Opta console is a Perpetuum Ebner REX automatic record changer. It's a really cool player that I hope will work well after a bit of TLC.

These are incredible machines for their time. They have all sorts of tricks up their sleeve. The belts are fine.

Hello. Nice restoration. I have a Perpetuum Ebner Rex 4A and the tonearm only goes up and down, it does not move towards the record, from what I saw in your video it may not be calibrated, could you tell me how you did to calibrate yours? Thanks a lot. Greetings

About the hum on the radio, I know this is pretty obvious but have you changed out the electrolytic filter caps? 90% of hum problems on old tube audio equipment is due to bad filter caps.

This is the PE Rex AA player. I just purchased the PE Rex A record player which is almost the same one featured in this video with the exception being it only plays 33, 45, and 78 (no 16). Mine didn't come with a needle or power cord. Jim I have a question. What is the specific needle that I need to purchase for restoring the Perpetuum Ebner Rex A machine? And where could I find a power cord for it as well? I am restoring a 1958-59 Graetz Moderato 6617 German made stereo/turntable console that I received from my grandfather who purchased it new back in the late 50's. The turntable was missing, so I found one on Ebay to put in the stereo console.

I think it uses the Perpetuum-Ebner PE 7000 Moving Magnet Phono Cartridge. Try and find your model's manual online

How can I contact you? I just bought a Blaupunkt Amazonas 4521 and it has a Perpetuum Ebner Rex A4 and the 33 and 16 speed are not turning . I checked the belts and they seem to be ok. Please let me know!

Re the hum problem on the radio. Could it be a ground to rusty rivet or ground to poor solder joint ?

Hi! I have this exact record player, brought over from Europe. The motor is overheating. Could that be the difference in herz? Would you have an idea ?

most likely the capacitor needs to be replaced. You can replace with a 1.6uF like the Panasonic ECW F4165JL
